Wrecked FD in MD?

Someone spotted a Red 3rd gen at Cecil County Raceway that got loose after the line and wrecked. Just checking to see who it was and see if anybody knew what happened?

I guess it was widebodied and they said it was really fast.

A cell phone are you serious? I can see the coolant part, but a cell phone?

Sucks, I hope he was ok and hopefully the car didn't get it to bad, but getting sideways @126 on the track is never good.

It depends on how your friend described it. Did he ALMOST hit the wall and end up never getting traction on the track with the coolant on his tires? Or did he get off line wrong and hit the wall? Im gonna go give him a call now, will report back.

ok, he did hit the wall at the top of 4th. More cars had been complaining about coolant on the track, but a few slower cars ran before, so it really didnt bother them. He hit his front end, just messed up the bumper, and then it shot him around and hit the back end where most of the damage is. He said its not near what you would think it is. It looks to be cosmetic, doesnt look like any frame damage.

Damn, well I'm glad he's ok.

Did the track even check after the complaints? I know at Atco it seems like they check every other run.

Nope, they just let it go. He did say no fluids were leaking, and everything seems fine, other than the damage. Im not sure, but assuming he drove it off the track onto his trailor without any problems. But not totally sure.
