Who is going to run HPDE at Pocono this weekend?
Guys and gals,
I'm tired of showing up to track days and not seeing one (or only one) other RX-7.
I bought this car for performance driving and track events. I would like to see some other RX-7s out there this weekend.

I know a lot of people are afraid of going to the track because they don't want to crash or they are afraid that they will not be as good a driver as they think they are. I'm still running HPDE II and I just go to have fun and drive ***** to the wall. Pocono has a very long back straight and you can probably max out your speed (depending on the track config). As far as crashing goes, If you are in HPDE I, you will always have an instructor in your car. You will go from the classroom to the track and back again. If you are driving like an idiot, the instructor will correct you. If you continue to be an idiot, you will get booted. Instructors do not want to die in you car.
I'm camping there. I'll have a widebody first gen with the numbers 84 and "Trusty Steed Racing" on it. So, look me up if you go.
Lets go have some fun and show everyone else what these cars can do!

43 looks and no one is going? Everyone is more into meets? Lets go drive.
All you need is to show up. Tech is just a basic safety inspection and there are helmets at the track if you don't have one.

I personally think this looks like a shitload of fun.
Several things:
1. Car is still on jackstands
2. HPDE-1 is closed for this weekend, so those of us never having done it, are screwed.
3. The cost is prohibitive when I'm still trying to get the thing race ready
On the other hand, I thank you for bringing this to my attention. Chances are good that I'll be doing this in the future on a regular basis when the car is up and running. I'll send you a PM when I'm ready to head up for my first one.

This lime I have break pads coming in as well as a fuel filter and fuel pump coming in the day before the event. It is always down to the wire but signing up to events in advance gives me a date to work towards.
I hope to see you there in the future!
