Question Where to buy 55Gal Drum C-16

As many of you know my monster is coming to life (20+ psi) and I figure for the amount I drive it can live on a pretty steady diet of C-16
My dilemma is finding a place to get in 55gal drum. Online is tough, I can find 5 gal but for the price shipped I might as well go to Atco on Thursdays and fill up.
So does anyone know where to get c16 or Sonoco Red in 55 gal drum locally, or even shipped from a place online.
Im in the Sj area, like 10 min From Atco

Thanks

Keith Im holding my breath for the call LOL

Gambardella racing carries Torque or Torco fuels (SP?) and something other, no Sunoco or VP
But has 116 leaded for 9.10 per gal and 118 unleaded for 10.65 p/Gal Whopping price break of .10 per gal in 55gal drum

They build and race funny cars and top fuel dragsters, but I haven’t heard anything bad about Torco or the other brand he mentioned, but haven’t heard their names as much as VP and Sonoco.

Going to have to see what Keith comes up with

VP East

$510.30 55gal C-16 (9.28 per)

$380.16 55Gal C-12 (6.91per)

Dooh just remembered their54 gal drums owell not redoing the math

so the torco 116 octane is like .44 cheaper a gal thenC-16 Figuring on getting 54 gal drum, Worth it?

I went the same route but its really not worth it at all. I end up buying a few of the 5 gallon drums, much easier to take to the track and handle. They also make excellent seats for your garage when empty. I now use them to store oil when doing oil changes etc..

Plus, have 55gallons of an open tank of C16 is kinda scary to have in your garage, especially if attached to the house. There is also a new fuel with a higher octane rating that the C16, VP makes it as well, look into it. See below...

VP Import
Maximum power and torque in small displacement, high RPM, all motor, turbocharged or nitrous sport compact applications. Makes 5% more power than C16 and similar nonoxygenated fuels. Works well under high temperatures due to mechanical heat.

• Color: Clear
• Motor Octane: 120+
• Specific Gravity: .744 at 60° F

Yea, that much gas has been a dilemma with my conscience, I though about building a nice thick cabinet to keep the drum in, but for all the parts and labor I could buy 5 gal jugs and keep them on stand by and be much more at ease instead of having 30+ gal of fuel sitting in the garage. The Garage is detached but if anyone has ever seen a 55 gal drum go up, you better hope the house is a couple hundred feet away.

But for the ease of not having to lug jugs around and having more than enough gas available is nice. The reason I was going for the drum is I was hoping for it to be cheaper. But it seems like no bulk discount on race fuel LOL

The VP Import fuel gains motor octane by adding oxygenates to the fuel, likely MTBE. It is also roughly TWICE the price of C16, for 54 gallons...

In addition, if you get the 54 gallon drum, there is a drum fee of, ~$9 I believe.

After i get tuned, yea going to be running 25psi or so all the time, I probably could get away with c-12 for most time, and run c-16 @ the track, Ya know to keep costs down ;-)
