Whats up guys.

I joined the forum in hopes of gathering up some other Mazdas to have a weekly Mazda meet in Richmond, VA. I've recently hung out with the Scion club and they are a great group of people and the comradery and was hoping we can do that with the Mazda community.

So far its just a small group of RX-8's who are interested (myself included would be about 5 or 6). So, if you're interested in a weeky Richmond meeting, we can arrange something and see where things go. Hope to hear from you guys.

I'll also be posting this in the other Mazda forums (Mazda 6, Protege, Mazda 3, Miata). The more the merrier, right? Just let me know what works for you. I was thinking Wednesday nights. If you could help out and spread the word, it would be great.

I know that Hanzo has been trying to get people to come out on Friday nights so if this Wednesday thing doesn't work out we're gonna push for Fridays, if he doesn't mind.

 

Hanzo hasn't just been trying, he's been succesfully getting people to come out to the Starbucks every single Friday for at least the last 2 years. The worst nights in the dead of winter we get at least a dozen folks to show. When the weather is nice during the summer getting 60 or seventy cars to show is not unusual.
I'd be up for a wednesday meet but I don't about to many other people, where would it be?
Personally I think you should just try to push people to show up Fridays, Richmond doesn't have that big a group of real car enthusiasts.
But hey if you get the Mazda peeps out in the middle of the week I'm all for it.
Additionally you may wanna drop buy some of NASA and VMSC autocrosses.

 

Nibura you are too kind but since it is a weekly meet the amount of people that shows up varies. The Friday night meet has been going to for about 5 years now and at one point it has gotten out of hand so it was moved from location to location. Our current location is great, not a huge group but a consistent one. Every week there are regulars but most of the time we get different people showing up, a good variety. If the Weds night meet doesn’t' work out for you guys feel free to join us on Fridays.

 

should anyone wanna discuss such a meetup live and in person this Wednesday, I'll be at Cap Ale House (downtown location) for the "Steal the Glass" night.
I'll be downstairs throwing darts, shooting pool, and imbibing in general.
