Up north guys........have a question
I have a 93 FD. Im thinking about moving back to PA so I can help take care of my dad. But I was wondering what precautions or type of things you have to do to you car. Do you drive it in the winter....will it being excessivly too cold hurt something.....I know its a dumb question, but Ive heard funny stories about FD's and cold weather. I wont be driving it often, especially cuz of the snow and ice. But I would go and sart it just about every day to keep things fresh. thanks for you input.

When my FC was running, and daily driven, I didn't have any problems with it. Just make sure you let it warm up for a few minutes, and keep your starting and charging system up to date. Try not to drive it when there's fresh snow and ice, obviously, cause you have a real good chance to slip and slide.

i lived in pa for 8 years, just never with a rx7.
as far as slippage goes, I can barley keep traction when there is a little water on the ground, let alone thinking about snow and Ice with the FD. That what my subie is for.
thanks

I've driven my FD for numerous years all winter. I will tell you now that you NEED to get snow tires. I mostly drove between queens and long island. The queens roads were cleaned early but the long island roads were never cleaned properly right after the snow fell.
The 2nd year I got a set of snow tires and actually drove in 4-6inches of snow (locally) with no issues. I would recommended getting a beater if you can afford it.
