Tuesday nights meets in North NJ
nah not really, im probably the youngest and i know about the same as the others when it comes to rotors
something like that is more of how long you have been around them/ or how much you read up and how fast.....i know ive read at least 2/3 of the entire FSM for my car...plus i bought the brochure for my car, and i read the one for the FD, ive read bits and pieces of its FSM.
ive had alot of hands on with my car from fixing whats broke, which was.....well....not alot to me but alot to some(clutch, tps, springs, shocks, exhaust, tail lights, headlights, radio, hubs, wired a wiper hatch, rewired speakers, float in gastank, oilpan gasket,3 alternators, rewired CTS, tested MAP,AFM,repaired sunroof(still not done),shifterbushings, full alignment, replaced tires.) all with occasionally some help from a friend.....
and now im starting to get some hands on with FD's
thats how you gain exp/knowledge

Reading does help alot but you dont really know til you start doing it.
Its hard to explain but you also have to own the car as well.
I have the FSM to my car and i dont even look at it. If something goes wrong or there is a noise, i almost can guess what it is, or at least in that area and fix it right away.
Like that hose that broke the other night? I knew right away.

damn yall n-words kno alot.. i want to get to that level of hardbody fixing stuff but i dont have the ***** to do it myself, little knowledge, and dont have the skill. but ive been readin here and there and i think imma invest in a haynes manual thingy that people been talkin bout. lol but as of right now my fc is with my mechanic i get it back saturday.
Need a bit of help...
any of you guys up for getting your hands dirty?
I need someone that is mechanically inclined and has preferably worked on cars before, about an hour if your time in the shop... If you have no clue what your doing this is not really the project to learn on... I'll be happy to teach someone on a easier install though... my car or theirs.
I have the tranny out of my car and need someone to help me lift it back into place.
It is not impossible to do alone -but a pain when the car is on jackstands... I should have simply pulled the whole engine out...
My shop is right around exit 145 on the GSPW 2 min off the highway... looking to get this done Mon night... I'll be at the shop from about 7pm till it's done. ( should not be long once the tranny is in)
This will be a big "I owe you one" as in I'll give you a hand when you need it/welcome to my shop anytime.
any takers?
