Totaled Blue S4 in MD? (Good score at the scrap yard; Whose parts did I grab?)
Did you lose a Blue RX-7 recently? I have found it... At the scrap yard.
It's a Dark Blue S4 with Blue interior and I think it was a knowledgeable owner.
The wiper switch had been partially rebuilt using the proper relay.
The test connector had wiring connected to it to extend it to the passenger compartment with black wire.
The Fuel pump had a kill switch connected to it.
There was a switch was under the steering column. (Not sure if that was the fuel pump switch, I didn't bother chasing the wiring under the carpet.
One of the relays in front of the radiator was spliced into with red wire.
The car was originally a base, it had a 5 lug swap done to it... Properly I might add, the LSD was in there!
Original options on the car were:
-Cruise control
-Sunroof
-Rear Storage Bins
-No Wiper hatch
-Manual everything
The car had added to it:
-A recently rebuilt engine... Aluminum rotor housings were painted orange. Iron plates were painted blue. Fresh RTV on the oil pan gasket.
-Racing beat header, Borla catback exhaust. Catalytic converter was removed at the scrapyard.
-The car was well cared for... Mobil1 oil filter, new fuel filter... Fresh Napa supplied parts: Belts, Autolite plug wires, etc...
-Recently replaced clutch master and slave cylinders, new hydraulic line.
-The front bumper was originally gold, but was repainted the dark blue as the rest of the car.
-The seats were slightly ripped and recovered in blue seats that had the "RX-7" logo embroidered on them...
-Recently rebuilt/replaced alternator and starter.
-White faced/Indiglo gauges.
-JVC Headunit and CD Changer or Aux input cable... Had an amplifier too, but it was removed.
-Possible short shifter?
-Newish set of Hankook Optimo tires on "Bologna Slicer" GXL style wheels.
It appeared to have been impounded or towed June 27 or 28th of 2009 according to markings on the windows.
~128K miles on the clock.
Some body damage to the driver's door and the key was in it... This indicates collision and insurance totaled it out.
I can't think of anything else about the car.
Was it yours? It's at Crazy Rays in Mt. Airy, MD.
The car was pulled in on the 5th of October. It may stay there for a few weeks.
I did not pull the engine or transmission. It's already raised up for drivetrain removal.
The engine sounded like it had good compression when I turned it over.
The transmission felt like it shifted smoothly.
I did not pull the LSD or 5 lug swap.
Decently clean carpet and all exterior panels aside from the driver's door.
Go get you some parts!
