Street Wars 4 Car show today..

I decided to go to the streetwars car show today, Reg started at 9, show started at 20. There was many kinds of cars, Jeff was there with the team e motion RX7. Ernie with his yaris, a R33 skyline which was for sale, vert 350z tt, and a built suby. I was the only 7 there besides Jeff, was told he was hopefully going to be in the best import category so he would be competing with the other show cars there. Was not true found out he would be placed in the mazda category so I decided to leave. Wish it could be more fair at shows separating the show cars from the street driven vehicles. Street Trenz crew also showed, they weren't really acting mature at all, people were standing inline for pizza and the street trenz guy was walking out saying sucks to be standing inline for pizza when theres non left which was untrue. Last time I went the street cars and show cars were separated, wish was very fair and nice to many who attended! This experience has made me want to stay away from the car show gatherings, I have a very clean FD touring edition, engine bay is clean as it gets and has all the goodies possible, almost perfect paint and clean interior. The judges (NJtuners) said the body kits are what will win at a show, I like a stock looking car personally, what you guys think?

I'm about to give up on car shows. I was in two last year, with by FAR the best Mazda within miles of the show. I received 2nd and 3rd place; the first one was a loss to a near stock Mazda6, and the second lost to a Miata and a Mazda3.

I didnt really think anyone still went to car shows.

I think its retarded.

I go to a car show EVENT which means theres racing and i strictly go watch the races.

The only "show cars" worth looking at are either by members or cars under a tent by some sponsorship or marketing booth.

The actual car show is trash IMHO. Same ol **** every single time. Its like i seen it all already.

I hear you, but when there is a actual show car of your make/model which has sponsors and help from manufactures you know they are going to get the award. Just wish could give people without the fortunate of sponsors and help from manufactures a chance to win, like me for instance. It's cool to have a sponsor, but I don't want to put stickers all over my ride and have to do what they say. I am in it to meet new people and have a good time, would love it if it could be fair to everyone and separate the costly sponsored vehicles from the people who spend they're own money and time into they're vehicle.

I understand that but could your car win against the emotion RX7? That car has A LOT of money into it. There were 3 show nissan's(skyline, yaris, vert 350z) 1 show WRX and the emotion RX7. The show was for a benefit for breast cancer, I am up for supporting it but I dont want to go when I know I dont have even a little chance due to a SHOW vehicle being in my category. It's nice to have hope and knowing you have a chance, but when you know there is no way of winning there's just no fun in it!

Ah that sucks.

Jeff's car is nice and it would be hard to beat.

Thats why I usually hang around because cars like his usually end up with top awards like best in show/best interior/paint/etc where the street cars can get maybe best Mazda/other/old school type of stuff.

I wish I could have gone.

Edit: Do you happen to have a pic of the Protoge? There are to many picture threads to look through on NJtuners and I don't feel like searching.

That's all they really care about, body kits and lowering springs. It didn't matter that I could beat every Mazda there by a couple of seconds on the quarter, or that you could eat off of my polished engine bay. At car shows, body kits = win.

Yea I agree. I didn't really expect to win, I was up since 8 left around 3 was tired as hell. Was a fun day, plenty of cars and people showed up.
