Great meeting all of you guys (Brandon, john, matty, ron, alex, and crew) and talking guns and cars .

We stayed until like 10pm.....the o2 sensor took a crap right after I got on the dyno, so no readings or tuning at all for me, definitely a tough break. Steve did what he could and with my current map the car idles and drives a million times better than it did after the 3 bar map sensor install. I am getting a wideband hardwired into my FD so that I won't have to go through the same ordeal next time.

Does anyone else feel poisoned from all of the exhaust fumes? My head and sinuses are killing me, lol

Rich,
I was high all day from the fumes! Man I had alot of fun bullshiting with you about guns and stuff. I am going to try and set up another dyno day and maybe you and NIck could come.
And get tuned! Let me know which wideband your going with as I want ot do the same thing. My car was pullin glike crazy last night on I-95. The race gas is addicting, now I have to order a 55 gallon drum!

yeah, i can. been running around with the boost controller off (7psi) and not revving past 5k or so but the car is running like a champ, relatively speaking. starts up better, cold idle better, driveability better, you name it. the beast actually *sounds* differently. my old man heard me zipping around the 'hood and coming up our hill and he commented that the motor sounds very different, sounds much more dialed in, 'happy' if that makes sense. it could have been worse i suppose......the Kandyman is tuning me at the RR on the street, then I can shoot for the #s once I get back.

Those are good numbers Matty, especially on a stock port.

alright well you guys are welcome. it was definetly an awesome day besides all the car troubles. good numbers put down by all. thanks again to the greatest tuner alive, steve kan at gotham racing.

wish ron and matt stayed around for dinner at 11pm with the rest of us. lol remember nicole? and steves def. a ladies man. (danielle said shes having her and 6 friends come over for you. )

everyone was really cool, glad to meet all of you, and we should all meet up again soon.

p.s. i hate dyno day cause im the one with the problems all the time. it could have been worse i guess like last year and lose all compression in the motor. luckely this year it was only boost creep which i will hopefullly be fixing this week with a new wastegate. so if anyone has one laying around i need a 50mm hks racegate.

again an awesome weekend, thanks to steve kan and everyone coming out. hope to see you all soon. good luck with the cars.

glad to hear some people got tuned finally!!!!! why only 433 @ 19psi? a friends car made 428 @ 16psi with a T04s with a S4 T2 engine with a different tuner.

also why didn't steve bring his own wideband ? i can't believe none of you had one. they are so cheap now innovative is what $350.........oh well.....

He was heat soaked, prolly looking at 450ish at 19. Also, the motor was ported by your buddy Dave at KDR, so you know it's a conservative port.

Steve forgot to bring his wideband.

Thanks for all the second guessing Johnny V, got any more questions I can answer for ya ?

Brandon, why don't you put your dyno results in your signature? 425 isnt anything to be shy about!

yeah dave is my buddy and my real name is Donald Trump.

A stock port motor can do more than 433 rwhp @ 19psi with a T78. so it seems normal to question the low power output. Matty made good power @ 358. honestly i wish i let someone i now know tune my car(its not genghis either),i know it would have made 500rwhp on pump gas. that is for next time around though............

Well guys, parked my car last night, went to start it today to back it out da garage and I got no fuel pumps. I got no fuel press and the pumps are not coming on when I turn the ignition on, Is it possible that both relays went cause they are clicking when I turn the key.
Maybe the main EGI fuse up front?

I'm twisted!

You are not making 500 to the wheels on pump gas on a 13B, even with water injection. What did you end up trapping on your 459 power output?

i will hopefully be given the opportunity to prove alot of people wrong. it all depends on how much time and money we have free. i already have one race car that takes alot of both..........

my best run was 12.0 @ 118mph blowing the trans and clutch...... that was on a different map than the 459rwhp run though. my FD was never actually tuned it spent 10 mins and 2 runs on the dyno with ito and carlos "pepe loco" montano messing with it when it made 410@10psi and 459@15psi. after that i changed the map to try and get it to idle and cold start etc and i am not a tuner so it was not good at all. i just dealt with it because my car broke EVERY driveline part even with the shitty maps i made and every tuner told me i'll tune it for $600+ but if it blows up that's your fault even if i do something wrong. how many times are you gonna ask this on the forum rich? i should do what everyone says and tell you to search for the answer

hell i'm pretty sure i'm still pretty high on the list of fastest 3rd gen times on this site. ha ha

yea thanks rich, i guess i could post my numbers. since i was boost creeping i hit about 19-20 psi and made 425.5 and 350.8 tq @ 6300rpm on a stock ported motor and T04S(1.00 hotside/62-1/ .7compressor divided) this week im going to buy a 50mm hks racegate(which i thought i had on there) and hopefully correct the problem.

guys lets take it easy.

Vipereaters boost wasnt holding strong at 19psi. I would call it more of a spike to 19 then holding @ 17psi. I video taped his runs and they will be on mpeg soon for you too see.

r1dreamer;s situation was similar...boost creeped up. It wasnt a rock steady. I wasnt there to see his final dyno runs but when i was there boost still wasnt in control.

I am not taking rich;s side vosko but i think what he is saying is that dynos can be made to print any type of numbers. You need to back those numbers up on the track with a compatible trap speed before you can really claim the power. Thats my logic anyways.

thats exactly what happen to me when i tuned at kd a few yrs back. I thought the car was finally done only to learn that i need to spend another $1k for clutch flywheel and install
sucks! The car is never "done", end of story.

also want to add = few people think KD's dyno is off but my numebrs were virtually the same. I made 339rwhp on daves dyno and made a baseline of 335 on this dyno.

Thanks Matty! My boost wasn't holding and the video will show that. Plus my car did how many runs? like 30? My intercooler was so heat soaked it wasnt funny. Once I get my profec-b re-routed and check all lines for boost leaks, get my fuel pumps back on....

I can almost guarantee this car will put down 500+ on C16. But we will just have to see. Plus it doesn't matter how much the dyno says, its what numbers you are running on the track. If you have a 600HP car and your driving skills are not there you are still running shitty times.

Hopefully I can get my 500 and my driving skills will put me in the 10's. I can t wait to find out!

at least you now know how I feel after the tuning day. That place was pretty good with the air flow. AL and AZ was really bad. I almost passed out a few times while trying to tune. My eyes were shot and I could barely breath. LOL

I had alot of fun with you guys over the weekend. I wished that I could stayed there longer to meet up with some of Brandon's cute freiends. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoy the new tune and if there're anything you need or have questions, feel free to email or call me at the shop.

Also to Vosko, we made a total of 175 pulls on the dyno that day (in 7 cars). none of the cars have enough time to cool down (hints) lower dyno #'s than actual when everything is cold and nice like what most of the other tuners would do. I'm sure that if they redo the car again just for fun, they'll probably see an additional of 10-30rwhp depending upon their setup.

steve
