Steve Kan tuning, dyno day and meet in July (DE)

Alright this is an update from the last thread.

The Session will take place on July 9th and possibly 10th depending on interest. Car Version 2 located in Wilmington Delaware will host this event. Each car being tuned will be $350. For cars using the stock ECU, an additional o2 bung will need to be welded into the exhaust prior to this date. We may have them available on location but that hasn't been worked out yet.

The best way to go about this would to have a street tuning session with Steve, and a seperate dyno session afterwards. This is also opened to people who just want to dyno or hang out. The dyno being used is a dyno pak (more accurate then a mustang dyno). Also depending on interest it may be a better idea to simply rent out the dyno for the day. To rent the dyno for the day it's $1,000 and this includes a fresh o2 sensor to measure a/f ratios. If we can get 15 people interested in dyno pulls the price would be approx $68 per car for 3-4 pulls and a print out.

We'll probably have food and drinks available. I'll either steal a grill from my work which is next door, or order some pizzas.

I'd like to collect money before hand so I can finalize everything so this will get off the ground.

For directions to Car Version 2 please visit their web site
www.CarVersion2.com
420 Century blvd.
Wilmington, DE 19805

If not enough interest is generated then I may post something on www.delawarestreetracing.com to see if anyone wants to use the dyno as well.

Will Steve Kan's tuning be done on the street or on the dyno?

I prefer my car be tuned on the street, but he'll tune on the dyno if you desire. It's your call.

I would rather mine be street tuned as well. When would you need a deposit for the tuning?

The sooner the better for the deposit. You can either send a check or money order, paypal is not prefered for this kind of thing. I'll PM my address to everyone tomorrow or monday, once we get a better figure for how many cars are coming.

The only thing I need a commitment for is tuning, for dyno you can just show up. I'd like to receive deposits for the tuning by the end of this month, or at the latest the 10th of June (1 month prior to tuning)

I'll be there, plus it will give me a goal time to have my engine rebuilt and in the car by. Maybe if I can even get the damn boost controller working right (aka no more 25psi+ spikes) I will also hit the Dyno.
Thanks for the heads up Daniel-son!

what do you need a datalogit for? Steve has that.....as for the power FC... i doubt it haha. If you have a house you can take out a home-equity loan.

$350's not bad at all. If you check out how much other tuners charge, you'll see a $350 flat rate is pretty damn good, cuz Steve works on your car until he's satisfied and you're satisfied it's running A-ok!

Dan, I'm tryin to make it too...

also, What will he tune our cars too? If we want, will he be willing to tune up to say 25 psi on race fuel and water injection? Or does he have a limit of where he will tune to for the price?

Steve will pretty much tune whatever you want. He will warn you of the dangers of what you want though. But he has tuned with water injection and race fuel many times before and I'm sure he can accommodate your needs.

Travisty,
Like I said before, it's a gathering too. Feel free to stop on by.
