Holy crap, dude I told everybody in my car club about you and the other yellow FD you were running like 10.50's and drove it up their. Man I told everybody about your car cuz some of my friends are rotary haters and ppersuaded me to say screw the rotary cuz they unreliable and all the same crap haters say. I used you as a testament to prove they reliable i was like "man this dude drove it up their along with another rx7 and ran tens). You weren't at this years event(watching the football game I know) but still not to sound corny but you are the reason I decided not to put a 350 in my 88 and I'm looking at a 88 t2. One of my friends were like yeah he's prolly a rich ***** that won't let you talk to him or get near his car to look at it. Contrary to what he said my bud chris with a rx2 talked to you last year and said you drive the heck outta that thing and you really were down to earth.
I'm definately trying to talk wit you more on this site to learn about rotaries; you just don't know how much of a smack in the face your car was to the v8 lovers, I put up with 2 years of "experts" telling me 7's suck. Bro if you go to the creek on nov 5 '07 for the next one I have to see that car man, your a role model dude, props to you for making me a rotorhead and more open minded.
I was into FWD cars b4 but I've emailed everyone from dan schechter to steve kan and I've found out that nobody is more faithful, devoted and friendly than rotorheads man you all treat eachother like family at the meets and when you talk rotary its really cool to be apart of such a tight knit carclub.
Thanks Ernie T not to sound like a noob or a sap but you, dan shcechter, steve kan, atkins rotary, etc. created a devoted rotorhead out of a guy who in '02 swore on v8's. You guys seriuosly gave me something to bragg about and gave me the motive to learn about cars and since then I've taken autotech classes and am rebuilding my first rotary( 6 port 13b). seriously thanks to all of you and rx7club members and rotorhead one day I hope I can meet all of you at budds creek soon cuz all of you guys are totally un like the other import fans. (sorry to type so much and sound like a sappy noob but it amazed me at how social you guys are to fellow rotorheads and fans.)

I would guess the car should have no problems running 9's. I've seen Ray take a lot less of a Fd down the track at 9's. I don't know if Ernie will be able to shake the cobwebs off his racing jonz that fast though. I hope he does well. I'd like to see him do something big.

yeah man me too. back To explain how far I've came since seeing that car heres an example: In two years of learning about rotary's I wnet from knowing squat to getting a 500 buck 88 gxl out the junkyard running again after installing fuel opump and rewiring and checking alot of the undebody electriacl to 3 weeks ago my little bro and me pulled the moter out with a hundred piece craftsman tool set (no jack, no lift and didn't have to go under the car) and a rope. Then the only tool we used was the 54mm socket no flywheel stopper or dowel pin puller, yeah our flywheel stopper was the driver sied engine mount wedged btween the flywheel and the housing. Our dowel pin pullr was a tension bolt. we fully dissambled it in about 20 minutes and I've got everything in my basement sitting now. I've tought my grandad about rotary's he's been a mechanic for 25 years.
ErnieT dude thats the kinda inspiration you gave me and my passion for rotary's got tenfold after talking to one of my idols dan shechter cuz he's a average racer on a budget, same as crispeed, ari yallon, and eric cheatham. I mean Im just a 20 year old college kid that everyone on this site probablt thinks is corny for saying this but its tru man you guys make the rotor spin for reall all of you not just them I don't know man its really cool being called a rotorhead its like I'm on a different level or on uncharted territory people are fearful of the rotary's man for real.

"I have no reservations in saying 9's are around the corner", modesty is a nice yes, we all know you had a heck of a grin typing that. I'd hate to see your driving record since owning that FD.

Hey Southern Maryland RX7 freaks I am wondering about something. Check out the post I put up in the NE 7 forum "who runs a Budds Creek" I don't know if any of you are down for it but I figure since all the NE 7's ring in and keep track of eachothers 7's on the forum. You guys think it would be possible for all the 7's to have a day where we all meetup at the Creek. So far I have 3 people that could. go 1 of them is a turbo rx8 and 2 gxl to T2 7's. Let me know what all you think. I mean alot of you go there already it isn't too far fetched.

I would like to see what Brian could run again. I was shocked he broke 12's. Quite an accomplishment for twins and a street car.
Dave- I am gonna swing by your house sometime during the week or on the weekend. I leave next monday for Illinois. I don't want to drive all the way there, but I got to I suppose.

I ran in Import Vs. Domestic 2003. I was eliminated in the second round because I did not make the bump spot. At the time I was running non-sequential twins. It was my first racing season. I had really just taken an interest in the track. So then for next three years though I have had a single turbo on the car. Ideally tryiong to get a respectable car to compete with (On a completely amatuer level of coarse, unlike Ernie) . I have been trying to get it set up right this whole time. I changed turbos twice and on this last one, which I think is the hot ticket; I buggered up my motor by crossing my ignition coils accidentally. Long story short the motor was rebuilt up at PFSupercars and is sitting there waiting for me to go pick it up. I'll most likely be back out at the track in the spring.
I spent so much time trying to get the car running I still have not really had the chnace to enjoy it. I'll be happy to get back behind the wheel.
Justin, have a safe trip. It was nice knowing you.

Im definitly up for going to the trach this coming season. Last saeson the only time i got a chance to go I was running .5 psi haha so hopefully this time i can get some better times.
Anyone here understand the glove box latch in FD's? Mine is not functioning properly anymore so I have to figure out a way to get it open so i can replace the latch. The is a thread in the third gen section about it now but no one is replying to me haha.
And I will finaly be at PFS in hopefully less than a month!
