Since this year we are having Rotor Jam at the same place I just dug up my old thread and copied the directions. They are pretty much the same. If the meet up spot for the NY/NJ caravan changes this first thread will change to reflect that, till I know otherwise I'm assuming the same hookup spot.


Since those of us in New England are the farthest away we are sadly gonna have to get our asses up nice and early (Re: Crack of Dawn!) and haul *** down there. According to Mapquest its a 4hr45min drive to the Dragway, but we are making a detour of sorts to meet up with the NJ/NYC Caravans. The detour is to Exit 48 on I-80 West.

I know there is another New England Caravan that usualy pops up for this but for some of us its up and around the way, I hope this will give people a option to still go and still meet up with a caravan.

Ok folks here it is the Directions and Meet Times.
Summary: Leaving from the Norwood/Dedham Area to New Haven, CT then off to Pine Brook NJ to meet up with the rest of the Rotorfest Caravan. Then off to Island Dragway.

Meet Time: 5:30am @ Rojo's Car Wash in Norwood, MA From I-95/128 take Exit 15B onto Rt1 Norwood/Westwood. Its about two minutes down Rt1 and just after a set of lights, you'll see a Burger King and Mc Donalds to so you have some land marks to work with.

Leave Time: 5:45am From Rojo's we'll top our cars off with gas (some of the cheapest STILL in the area btw) and head back up Rt.1 to 128/95 and from there take I-95 South onto New Haven, CT

Est Time: 2hr 18min's (um according to map quest here and well I'm pretty sure we'll be able to knock 18min's offa this time lol)


Meet Time: 7:30am @ Exit 46 New Haven, CT. There is a Gas Station right off of this exit on Sargent Dr. I forget exactly but I wish to say its a Shell Station. There is a mini-store and bathrooms there so its a great meet spot (plus a decent sized parkinglot to boot.

Leave Time: 8:00am By this time the MA leg of the Caravan will have already showed up in New Haven, CT and if time permits we will top off our gas tanks. We'll leave right away after us MA folks top our tanks off.
From here we'll head back onto I-95 South and head off to NJ. This is where it gets complicated and where I wish everyone will either goto Mapquest or Googlemaps and print up a copy of these directions. For now I'll type them up as Mapquest tells it to me

Take I-95 S (Crossing into New York) 69.1 miles

Keep RIGHT to take I-95 S torwards G W Bridge/ Lower Level/ Last NY Exit (Crossing into NJ) 2.5 miles

Keep LEFT to take I-95 Express Ln S / New Jersey Turnpike S torward I-80 / Garden State Parkway / Paterson. 2.5 miles

Take the I-80 W Exit 69 on the LEFT torward Garden State Parkway / Paterson 0.8 miles

Merge onto I-80 Express Ln W 3.2 miles

I-80 Express Ln W becomes I-80 W 16.6 miles

Take Exit 48 torward Montville/ Pine Brook .01 miles

Est Time: 1hr 50min (again same as before I'm willing to bet we'll be chopping off atleast 15-30mins offa this time.)

Now from here its off to the Dragway.

Calvius, nice job. So if any of the CT peeps want to hook up for the cruise down, this is a great chance. If your in the lower Fairfield County area, i.e. Stamford Area they could do a quick fly by and pick you up along the way. Post up your interest so we can plan the caravan accordingly.

Yeah car is fine still drivable. I'm hoping to get her fixed before Rotor Jam.
Kinda disapointed so far in the lack of people showing interest in this caravan.. come on people.. this is a once a year EVENT! Dont miss out.. as Chrism said "This is when you call in Dead!"

I will send a blast out the CTRA people and see if they are interested. **** out of 52 people registered, I would hope that some come on down.

All right dudes me and my 7 are down to join the caravan, but I thought that rotor jam was the 8th. anyways if I get left behind because of my slow driving don't worry, I'll take the tom tom with me.. can't miss this meet. I'll go to my job and be like u im goin to rotor jam!(oh location stamford CT)

Trinity, nice to see your coming. I have not seen you since you hit the gas on the way home from the Hooters meet. Clavius can meet you and Ed in Stamford on his way through. I will be leaving way early that day to get down and set up. PM him and get the details. There may be a few other 8 guys meeting up for this also.

I sent out the email, lets see who else comes out of the wood work.

Well with Gas price's the way they are I'm sure some of us won't mind taking it a bit slower (than normal). Last year we pretty much kept to 90mph straight unless traffic caused us to be slower till NJ hehe.. but this year I'm thinking a nice cruise will be better lol.

Clavius, does not look like much interest in the New Haven stop. Looks like you will get a few in the Stamford stop.

One week out guys. I just sent Clavius an email on the meet point. I think the McDonalds off of exit 9 (95) would be the easiest as its a quick on and off and has a large gas station. I will wait for him to give a time, as hes the one coming down. See you guys on Sunday!

Well sadly I wont be able to attend this years RotorJam. Without getting into to much details lets just say my car isnt ready at all (re:still damaged).

The Stamford stop definatly works out though and the times I laid out just adjust them by 20min's if that. Just remember when cutting through NYC to take the lower level of GW Bridge and you'll be fine.

I really do regret even having to post this up since I was sooo looking forward to be the one leading a mini-caravan with 7's this year (last year only had 3 8's with me).
