Salvage title

I was wondering if there is any market out there for a third gen with a salvage title. I was in an accident recently and my insurance company totalled my car off a mild fender bender. I have the option of retaining the car, and would be looking for a buyer. Maybe a parts car, or something. 1993 R1 5 speed red with about 74k miles. Damage is only to the front clip, with no suspension damage. Just testing the waters, as I havn't had to deal with a wrecked 7 before... Any information or advice would be appreciated.

generally a salvage title FD would sell either as a parts car, or as a full on track car. you also have the option of parting it out

if you do intend on selling it as a whole you have to check the market for what clean title cars go for, salvage cars go for less of course but depending on the damage, not much less

so lets say the average price is 12k for a clean one, if yours only needed some cosmetic and minor frame, you could probably try for 7-9, and if your really lucky even 10

but it all depends on the damage

now let me ask you this:
if its so minor, why not fix it, if you show the dmv proof of legit repairs and have the car tested they will issue you a regular or rebuilt title, and the car will be road worthy again

I didn't realize people would pay that much for a 7 with a salvage title...

Now as far as repairs... The oil cooler mounts, radiator support and passenger headlight are the most significant damages. Obviously the bumper and hood will need replacement, too. I am moving to California in January and as far as I know, I would not be able to register it there due to modifications. I could look more into that too, I suppose.

not much i sold my salvage titled fd for 7k with 57k on chasis, 70k on motor, that had many mods like upgraded ic, turboback, kit, etc. but jut needed the salvage inspection. just needs to be inspected and not that many ppl want to handle that since it has to be bone stock and has to have paperwork for everything that you fixed/replaced. plus the fee for inspection and title transfer is a hassle. thats why i sold it to much a pia. it al depends on how far you want to go with what you have
