My understanding for alot of guys is that it needs to be on a Sunday. FYI August is way too hot.

the meet will definetly be on AUGUST 8TH

location:

West Essex High School in North Caldwell NJ. It is on West Greenbrook Ave right off of Passaic Ave (exact address will be coming in a bit)

ok that pretty much the biggest part, a time will be set very soon, and im going to scope out the area within this week

seriously, you know im sorry that island never got back to me, the best that i could do was get us 2 very big parking lots

i dont remember seeing anyone else try to organize this meet....if you all want ill get a tv and a sound system and blast pinks all out for you, or get some forza 2. that way you can feel like your at the track

 

Hopefully there will be alot of ppl that would make it worth going.

Highschool Parking Lot in NJ sounds kinda lame to me.....

Come to Long Island there are about 200 state parks that you can pull into and hang for the day for $6.00.....

And you can go to the beach and take a swim....

Sorry to be a dick but I am a little too old for parking lot car meets...

 

I could probably go... I don't care if the meet is in a high school parking lot, we could recruit some new rotary heads fresh from school... if anyone wants to race we could set up a 12 yard dash race and winner gets a trophy... I'm sure some of us could use the exercise...
Helghast7 thanks for organizing the event, I know that it takes time and energy to get it done, and so far this year we haven't that many meets like last year where we get all rotaries together in NJ or NY. We should support this event like any other event and make it happen... People shouldn't complain, just attend. So what if it is a highschool? We going there for the rotaries and friends...

 

long island would sound good.....there is alot of places we can do this out here.

 

I'm in for LI too. I'm sure we can get a lot sectioned off for us in One of the small beaches by Jones beach or jones beach itself! The only prblem I see is if we have to pay for insurance.

 

Why not Bear Mountain or Atco?

Guys there is a parking lot that avaiable on Sunday in Lynhurst next to the Whiskey Cafe, every Saturday there is a classic car show and they never had an issues, the lot get's pack usually about over 300 cars it's nice and sunny outside. Whoever is taking charge of this meet and can look into it on Staurday or Sunday, I get meet you there to show you where would be ideal area.

Im seeing that the event is going to be on August, 8th. Thats like three weeks away. If anything is going to happen better start now, because when you wait for the last min everything falls apart. So High School, Long Island, Beach doesn't matter to me. I thought the whole thing of this event was to take over the highway, then get together eat and BS about the the ride to the spot...I understand people wanted to drag race and stuff but we have to take what we have..

its staying at the highschool, im not changing it just so a few people can take a 2 minute drive from there house...

besides that if i remember correctly from previous years, the most amount of people bitch and moan about prices..having it at a state park will NOT be a cheap event, it would be 6 dollars, plus extra for the permit, plus whatever other fines the state wants to charge

so would you rather pay 5 dollars? or 20?

 

you do what you want to do, if other people want to arrange another meet for a different date let them have at it. You will never get approval from every single person so arrange you thing and run with it
