Easy Joe, your gut must hate you.

Zach, I did a little research on the skydiving thing. There is a place here in Richmond that does it as well as West Point. You have the option to do a tandem fall (instructor is attached to your back) or AFF (accelerated free flight, two intstructors hold on to you during fall, but you are not attached). AFF costs more, the highest I saw was $295 and training takes a lot longer, around 6 hours. With a group discount tandem would be around $180-190. Talk to your homies and let me know what you all think.

I was planning on going tandem skydiving sometime in June (or maybe later, depends on when I have $$) at West Point, so if you all are gonna go, make sure to post it up on the forum. For me its kinda a graduation present to myself.

yall going skydiving?Been there done that,it was awesome i got the video.I went to suffolk skydive its down 460 east like going to V.A. beach.Thats the one George bush jumped from while he was in presidency.Good enough for him it was good enough for me.I jumped tandem its $180.00 for tandem, they have had no deaths and 1 frwak accident(the guy is paralyzed) but he packed his own chute. The tandem is great, you dont even know anyone is with oyu till you hit the ground, then its just like taking a step off a stair.Ive been wanting to jump again but cant afford to do it i got the video,i was scared shitless in the plaing but once you jump you have no fear you have nothing but peace and quite, you lose everything in your mind and its just a awesome *** feeling.Gotta do it at least once, let me know when yall go,maybe i can afford to go again.

KICK ***! Tell me when & where so I can get that puppy installed! Now all I need is a TII hood and leather interior and no one will be the wiser.
Actually, I'll give you a call this weekend. Maybe we could get a few beers somewhere, see if Rob wants to go too.

Mike, yeah, we're on Sunday. I'll get my dads truck and the engine lift. I'll holla at ya.

Anyone know why I can't get my car into 1st from a roll? Like, it'll go in if I'm not moving or moving at like 1 mile and hour, but other than that it won't go in unless I force it, and I don't like to do that, so I just use second from a roll. So anyone know what could be causing this? I'm taking the car by Sportscar Workshops on Tuesday, but any ideas would be helpful so I can tell them, or maybe fix it myself. And btw, I just changed the tranny fluid so it isn't that. Thanks.

1st gear is funny like that. Your not supposed to really shift into first while moving.

I see...no call for me... I have to visit the rents on the boat tommorow...

I got a timing light...first check revealed I was running retarded by atleast 5-10 degrees...dead on now...feels much better. It took longer to figure out how to remove the blind cap on a hot engine than it did to actually set the timing...

Next up is the boost control issue...check out the microtech forum for a thread that I started...I went on in the listserv emails for the microtech and brought up some good points, which actually came out to a result! The best part is, unlike controlling the factory boost control solenoid (which is claimed by dale to be able to work, only need to send the ecu back for reprogramming....TO AUS!).

Hope you guys have a good holiday!

I think it's just the way the car is then. I posted a thread in the first gen section and a guy said both his GSL's won't go into it while moving. What do you do in autox when you're under the powerband in 2nd and can't shift into first though? Just keep it floored? heh. My cars been pissing me off lately. And to top it all off, someone hit it yesterday. Last day of school, sophomore parking lot. Someone was backing out of the spot I guess and the front of the car must've hit my car. Left a nice dent and some black smearing. And, of course, no note or anything, so I have no clue who did it. On top of that my drivers side key thing is getting harder and harder to unlock, so that'll need to get fixed sometime. I have a small hole in the passenger side door that needs to get fixed, and just yesterday it started making a weird sound from under the engine bay like a belt is slipping a little or something, but not quite. One of my belts on the dual belt alt pulley is a little loose, so I hope that it. I don't see how one could get loose and the other couldn't though, considering they're both the same size belts from the same place on the same pulleys. Should I just get new belts? God, why can't everything just work right.

Will it go in if you double clutch and match revs into first? I know that my miata won't go into first from a roll unless I get the rpm's up.

I haven't tried double clutching, but I've tried having the clutch in when it's in second, rev matching, and then trying to get it in first and it won't. I've revved it to like 6 trying heh.

brian - mine doesnt do it either, dont be worried. ive only have to go back into 1st once in an autox, and it was such a tight turn, it went in with a little force (i know its not good for it). point is, i wouldnt really worry about it unless you REALLY need to get into first gear from a roll. afterburn was right, try double clutching or rev matching, that might work.

david - i would love to stop by and help on the car but me and zach are pulling that motor today. im really interested in seeing the results.

i met a guy in dc at the crossroads "picknic" car show that was the original owner of a nice black fd. he had some stuff dont to it, like pfs intercooler and 99twins.. and some other stuff. it was really clean. i guess no point to that story.. but ya, i would love to learn a little about them as far as under the hood goes. its so crowded in there.

1.1- Under the hood isn't to crowded once you get all of the "junk" out of the way. My engine bay looks pretty bare at the moment. I can even see the ground!
Hope you had luck pulling the motor. That is always fun.

you can see the ground!?!?!? all the third gens that ive seen under the hood of, i couldnt make it halfway down, much less see the turbo's, they are WAY down there.

the motor pull went pretty well. we had a funny experience with draining the water system . we took a ladder, and layed it across the engine bay, took some chains, and called over 2 of my friends. the 4 of us lifted it out. it was a pita to get the tranny to come apart from the engine, but as we lifted my friend joe stuck a crowbar in there and pried it apart. once out, we striped it of all stuff we couldnt really get out from the engine bay.

now i just need to get the tranny and driveshaft out, then i can start my project

Yeah, the engine pull was definately an experience. I'm used to having an engine hoist, but I think it would have taken longer to put it all together and tear it down 3 or 4 times.
I've already torn down to the short block (removed flywheel & all the front cover stuff too) and VERY tempted to go all the way with it. I know there is a broken apex seal on the rear rotor, so if you find a rotor and rotor housing for a 12A, let me know. I can't wait to have this thing finished. It's gonna be one bad *** bridged motor! Brap... brap... brap... brap...
Thanks again Michael! I owe you one! Or five or six, I don't know what kind of beer drinker you are.

David, thanks for the parts, the radio works (comes on at least) but some fucko cut the wires to the built in amps so if i am going to use that radio I have to redo all of that, not sure what i am going to do yet. One other thing I forgot to ask you about that I need is the cigarette lighter assembly. Do you still have that in your parts car? If so, how much do you want? Thanks.

Here is something else I am going to get for my car, let me know what you guys think.

funny stuff..

I pulled the engine apart. Looks like I need two rotor housings and one rotor. There are some real nice gashes in the rear housing, and both of them have flaking almost half way across. I've already cleaned everything up too. I might do some painting tonight to make everything pretty like Robins engine. This time you'll be able to see the engine with no fuel injection or rats nest crap in the way.
