David S: For you, I'll give you a hell of a deal on that rebuild. You pull it, I'll build it. I could probably do it in a weekend or two.

David R: I'm up for a trip to VIR. I won't race for two reasons- 1. I can't afford the entry fee and 2. I can't afford to buy all new brakes again (I have four lugs, not good for road racing heat). I'd love to go and watch you tear up your stuff, maybe I'll be part of your put crew, for the small charge of beer and pizza, of course.

Sean: I'm a Mech. Engr. at VCU.

Michael: Kick ass vid! When we gonna make one for RRR?

l33trx7 03-20-03 09:42 AM

i live close to vir, but it's too expensive for me to race there. i might want to come down and hang out and help wherever i can

:werd: kewl zach, ill supply all the beer and pizza needed, and i figured you could use a little extra $$$.Ill help rebuild it,im just not to confident in building the first motor.Kevin should have my motor done by the first weekend of april,so i have some time to pull the motor out of the 87 and maybe have enuff money to start the rebuild on it.Ill keep you posted.

If anyone here can answer this one, it'll probably be Joe:

Zach- I will probably not be racing. The Mazda event is the last weekend of this month and my car will not be ready. Does anyone want to go?
Hopefully I can make it into the fall event.

l33trx7 03-22-03 09:16 AM

something on my car died. It's not the engine luckily, it broke down on broad st. but it was right next to a garage so I was able to get it over there. they think it could be a hydrolic problem, somethign with the clutch master cylinder. Anyhoo, I have no car

Sean M3 03-23-03 12:26 AM

The people that work at or attend VCU: what grades are you in, and if you work there, what do you do?

l33trx7 03-23-03 07:27 AM

Zach McAfee 03-23-03 01:45 PM

One2RX7 03-24-03 07:34 PM

afterburn27 03-24-03 07:45 PM

hmmm... I'm still in high school... :(
Next year I'll either be at VA tech or GA tech.

Someone at my school (Clover Hill High) is driving a blue RX-3 (I think, I haven't seen it up close yet). I think it is a teacher or administrator because it is always parked out front, you can see it from Hull Street if you drive by. Its not every day you see one of those. :)

l33trx7 03-25-03 02:53 AM

damn old school
and in that part of town...hmm, sorry i avoid hull street like the plague. well the ghetto part anyways

l33trx7 03-25-03 02:55 AM

oh yea joe, is you front right side panel removed. If it was then i saw you rcar today i was going down to manchester wall to rock climb. If thats the repairs your getting then more power to ya, t just caught me off gaurd, i see a beautiful 7 and then DAMN nothin lol

Josepi 03-25-03 07:47 AM

Nope not me!

Unless it fell off and I haven't noticed yet.

Sean, I work at VCU as a contractor. I've been around the university for almost 6 years in total...

l33trx7 03-25-03 09:01 AM

FUCK!!! this day is turning out to be just fine bloody tastic. Not only is it not my master cylinder. MY TRANSMISSION HAS NO PRESSURE!!! So no auto-x for me. I've already cancelled registration. Right now im trying to figure out a way to get it towed.

Josepi 03-25-03 10:06 AM

Transmissions have pressure? This is news to me.

Zach McAfee 03-25-03 01:20 PM

Uh, you mean your pressure plate is shot I suppose. Go ahead and get an aftermarket clutch and pressure plate.

DavidR 03-25-03 08:47 PM

I33trx7- Good luck with your car. A pressure plate and master cylinder shouldn't be to bad. It just sucks when it happens.
Apparently you haven't been to that side of Hull St.

l33trx7 03-25-03 11:56 PM

ok, apparently its something having to do with something between the flywheel to the clutch, I don't pretend to know anything about clutch's and the like. The reason I'm not getting an aftermarket is because I have like no money to work with, I had to borrow money from my parents to pay to get it fixed. Anyway's I'll bring more news...no auto-x for me this weekend, if anyone wants a spot in the third heat, its open, that was mine -_-. I swear if I didn't have to meet a prof tommorow I'd get so wasted.

Josepi 03-26-03 07:07 AM

Aftermarket is cheaper than stock if you put it in yourself. Aftermarket is still cheaper than stock parts...atleast for the turbos...I think the dealership wanted around 550 dollars just for the clutch and PP.

l33trx7 03-26-03 09:59 AM

well...as soon as they figure out what the problem is then I'll consider it, but im not sure about it until then. If they have to replace the clutch then maybe I'll get an aftermarket one. Any suggestions on the kind. I don't drag race, and I like the ability to feather a bit so nothing too hard. Also I'm not doing the work, a shop is. Some place on broad st.

rgordon1979 03-26-03 02:42 PM

act street strip, a little abrubt on engagement at first, but trust me, you will like the feel a LOT more than stock when it is broken in..

l33trx7 03-26-03 04:30 PM

hmm perhaps. Like I said I have no idea about transmissions, I'm self learned about rotaries, and i understand some basic concepts but other than that im clueless. So, how much would that cost rpgordon?
