Damn this forum, still can't post pics.

Still no dyno dave, I have only put 400 miles on the engine as of this afternoon. I am going to go 2000 or so before I start to get on it. Even then I won't be able to stomp it too bad. With the RB Exhaust and streetport, I will start to lean out really bad at wot. I imagine boost at wot will be in the 11-12 psi range. Do you think this is accurate?!

not sure rob,i have been researching places for dynos, and this is what i come up with, this guy my dad talked to at performance direct said he can use the dyno at ashland somewhere near the airport,he talked to him last summer some time its $100.00 a hour $50.00 hour for him to tune his name is mike and his #is 226-1948.Im going to give him a call once i get my motor broke in and S/C installed again and see if he still has access to the dyno. You could give him a try,the other nearest dyno i found was in woodbridge, but they specialize in V8's.good luck and happy break-in..(im not sure if they call it break-in for the motor or the driver.)If its the driver i failed miserably.

its a 93, and its that BRIGHT ass blue color. its pretty cool though. he bought it with tokico blues, eibach springs (same thing im running) and a jackson racing cold air box. he let me drive it in a parking lot, and it seemed more responsive than my rex, and its a SHIT load lower to the ground than my car. but for the last year hes been driving a 80 something dynasty, so hes new to the whole "my car actually performs" thing, so hes still learning the limits. im actually curious to see who does better between the two of us.

damn i won't be able to make it
I'm going to a concert on Saturday down at myrtel beach, and its a once in a lifetime thing. (toad the wet sprocket) its their last show on the tour. But they just got back together for this tour so it will be the last time they play together more than likely. Anyway I can't miss this concert. But I will be here for the next auto-x

I don't think it'd be that high if you ported the wastegate...

BTW, I saw your message on AIM as I was leaving the office...I have some money from the insurance in relation to the theft, I have to take pictures of my carpet to show that it was in excellent condition (it was) to get an additional 86 dollars...I may clean it up and see if the guy who did the estimate originally can vouch for it being in good condition. So hopefully, I should drop it off at the shop tomm and get it back sometime...

HAHA, it is hard to stay out of boost, but it will be worth it. When my time to tune gets closer (once i get my ecu) i will start calling around. I talked to my buddy at work today that has the bmw m5. he said since i don't have my car he would let me drive his. I am looking forward to this..:jerkit:

thanks, i saw that.. too badi dont have the money, nor the money to ship it right now :(

l33trx7 03-06-03 01:02 AM

well iguess it doesn't really matter what condition the TII is in. Either way I'm taking it all apart and refurbishing. Thats right, every nut and bolt down to the frame. And even that will be checked. Then I rebuild it all, maybe adding carbon fiber parts where I think a little strenth is good *cough* speaker surrounds *cough*. But the engine will be totally rebuilt everything. I want to make that car just like it was pulled directly off the assembly line, only faster lighter. THAT is why I want an S5. Oh yea, did i mention it will still look stock :D

Zach McAfee 03-06-03 09:00 AM

Hey Robin, explain to him how an S4 drives compared to an S5.

l33trx7 03-06-03 09:16 AM

im missing something aren't I?

rgordon1979 03-06-03 09:37 AM

haha, s5 is like having sex with a condom, and s4 is like having sex without a condom. I am quoting zach so anybody that is offended, talk to him...:D

l33trx7 03-06-03 12:07 PM

s5 turbo = power but in a "safe sex" sort of way. Interesting analogy...if not a little disturbing lol.

Josepi 03-06-03 12:20 PM

So you feel more road and hear more noises huh?

;)

rgordon1979 03-06-03 12:28 PM

yes sir, if you drive it right...:D

l33trx7 03-06-03 12:30 PM

ROFLMAO...well who knows, at the rate my search is going I might have to go with an S4. Would still like an S5 though. Good luck on the auto-x saturday, wish i could be there. I'll be at the next one :D

DavidR 03-06-03 04:29 PM

What is it like to drive an FD then???

My parts have started to arrive. Hopefully everything will be here in the next couple of weeks and I may have it running before summer.
