RAM 2007 - Friday, Oct 26 (Rotary Car event)

RAM 2007

Rotary and Mazda Car Exposition 2007
Friday, October 26, 2007
Summit Point Motorsports Park – Shenandoah Circuit
10:00am until 3:00pm

From the organizers who brought you the Mid-Atlantic Drivers Seminars (MADS) and the Rotary and Roadsters Car Expositions (RaRCE) comes RAM 2007.

- 2 day high-speed drivers education event on the Shenandoah Circuit (limit space remaining).
- Touring laps on the Shenandoah Circuit racetrack at the noon break, available for all participants that attend that day (one group will be an all Rotary vehicle group).
- Car Show, special trophies, raffles and loads door prizes.
- Vendor displays from Malloy Mazda, Rotary Performance, Triple R – Regan Rotary Racing, PBC Automotive and Rotary Diagnostics
- A lucky winner from the group that brings the most Mazda models will be awarded a track even for 2008.
- Rotary Engine rebuilding display
- MotorWeek, Maryland Public Television will be filming the event and interviewing participants that day as part of their segment on the 40th Anniversary of the Rotary Engine
- Rotary Race Cars on display
- Summit Point is one hour west of Washington, DC

RAM 2007 will not be as large as our RaRCE events from the past but it is a step in the right direction.

Regards,
Dave Nugent

Why Friday vs. Saturday: MotorWeek is only available on Friday.

A chance to be on television with your RX-7.

Fees: there are no fees for RAM 2007 participants. RAM 2007 is the car show, vendors, parade laps, prizes portion of the weekend.

Track event participant fees are posted at www.MazdaDriverS.com, however, there are only a very few spots left.

Crispy is making a very cool Rotary Trophy for the winner of the car show. Should be a lot of fun.

Rotor trophy and Rotor clock raffle items for Friday. Hand made by Crispy Regan for the lucky rotary enthusiast that attends. Perhaps MotorWeek will film the winners with their trophies. MotorWeek is filming Friday rain or shine.

We had over 150 people in attendance. I was very please to see the number of RX-7's that arrived considering the weather and week day. We parked the cars out in the rain and used the large covered overhangs of the classroom building for everyone to stand. Waiting for photos from friends. I thank all the participants that made the effort to show considering the conditions. The RX-7 community is a great group of friends and I thank you for participating.

The highlight vehicle was a perfectly restored 1975 red Rotary Pick-up, with Rotor Power on the lift gate. Beautiful vehicle belonging to Dan S.

MotorWeek was there all day long and filmed the entire event, should be on sometime next year. The late driven schedule was tied to concurrence from MotorWeek of their participation. Longer lead time is always a good plan, wish it could have been so for this event as well. Will shot for a longer lead-time next year.

Dave
