Question Radar Detectors in NJ

Hey guys. I'm planning on getting a radar detector sometime in the near future and was just wondering if these are even legal.

I'm pretty sure they are but I just want to double check to make sure. Also, what kind of detector do you guys reccomend? I was thinking of just getting a cobra but I herd they're a bit over-rated. I just want to get the best bang for my $100 and under budget. Thanks for feedback!

Valentine 1.

They have a stealthy install kit, most cops won't see it if it doesn't mount on the windshield.

They are legal. V1 is what I have and I wouldn't use anything else. Way above your said budget though.

V1 all the way. Don't get caught w/o it

Oh and btw...before you get overconfident, I hope you know they've installed cameras and speed sensors under the overpasses on the NJ Turnpike. Cop's nowhere in sight...they can either mail you a ticket, or have a cop up ahead waiting for you. Kinda tough, seeing that the flow of traffic on the NJTP is like 85mph! lol

Thank god they're legal. I would love v1 I've herd nothing but good things aboutbthem but that's waaaaaaay over my budget. Any other reccomendations? Suggestions?

Wasn't aware of the camera thing either but I'm not a turnpike commuter so I doubt that'll effect me much.

He's absolutely right. I have seen them in a few places. If I remember right, there is one going southbound between exits 12 and 11.

Yea the NJ cops actually just bought a ton of new equipment that *should* be undetectable to traditional radar detectors. I guess it works! haha. That's your tax money being well spent

Yes, I'm sure Rob. Is the NJ turnpike in a state other than NJ?

None. I didn't come across this in writing; I'm friends w/ some NJ law enforcement. Got a head's up about the camera and the new equipment. Actually, I couldn't tell if it was giving me a head's up, or bragging haha

Watch your mailbox closely I dunno where they are, but I can ask and see if 1) my friend knows, and 2) he'll tell me. Also, there are a few favorite spots for the Po-po to sit and hide on the turnpike. Check 'em out here: http://www.speedtrap.org/speedtraps/...y.asp?state=NJ
