MA please help me,wiring help in tewksbury mass area

hey guys,
short story ive done a bunch of work on my car and it started a few weeks ago. i basically got done working on my car friday and wanted to start it to hea my racing beat and gilmer setup. i went to install the new battery and burnt out the main fuse able link. i figured it was its time to go. i replaced the fuse and the same thing keep's happening the main fuseable link burns out. i can turn my headlights on and off and thats it. if any one in the tewksbury area can help me out let me know ill pay you for the work. my car is a 1980 rx7 so the wiring is real simple. its just some sort of short that i cant find. so if you can help let me know. well plan a day and try to get it started if your able to help me ill pay you for the work if not i wouldnt mind spotting some money for gas.

Fusible links don't just go. There has to be a reason why it is blowing. My guess is a major short in the main wiring to the starter. Make sure the heavy cable going from the positive post to the starter isn't shorted to the motor, frame.

I would be happy to help you if I were closer, but I am on the south shore, and you are at least an hour, and a half away I think.

wow i feel dumb.you wont believe what it was.

so i removed my alt a few weeks ago to get the gilmer pulley installed. theres two wires for the alt one with a plug and one thats bolted on. when i bolted the wire back on i forgot the plastic washer that goes between the wire and signal cleaner thing. simple as that kinda sad i over looked it. my buddy who went to uti came by when i was at work. i got home and within 15 min's he figured it out. he was going tho all my wires and i was like test the alt. and there it was. thank you yd(my friend)
