Part out: '86 N/A
Part out: '86 N/A
As title states I am parting out my '86 Base N/A. It is a 5 spd. which I believe has the N/A lsd. (Did one hell of a donut the one time I had it running) The seats are gone, and the rims are going back to previous owner. The front fenders and exhaust are not up for grabs, but everything else is. Large items (ie doors, hood, hatch, motor, trans, ect.) are local pickup only. The interior is somewhat stripped, as I have been pulling a few parts for my T2, as the pics will show. If anyone near southern NH is interested in the chassis, it is straight and clean, with no rust and minimal dents.
I am not sure what is wrong with the motor. The day I picked the car up I got it to run and it ran strong, just wouldn't hold an idle. I took the injectors out to send for cleaning, put the car back together just as it was and the best I can get now is a good attempt at a start. I will list everything I tried to get this thing to run.
Checked for vacuum leaks...didn't find any
checked spark, fuel.....good
Poor mans compression test ...both rotors have good even pulses.
cleaned spark plugs multiple times
checked coil resistance....leading coil failed
tried coil from my T2....still didn't help
double checked vacuum and elec connections
set timing...on mark and a few other spots
The motor floods something serious, so I am thinking it isn't building proper compression. This weekend I might try to put a few ounces of oil in the chambers to see if that helps any.
