P.I.N.K.S--Not a good time,this time.
I forgot to post up what happened from the taping of pinks.
Well after we had to go to atco instead of M.I.R,it was a pretty ruff day.
We were running a 94 camaro, completely rebuilt in 15 days,383 stroker, new rear, tranny, roll cage, and painted .I forgot how much nitrious.Anyway, the other car was like a 88 or 89 mustang. The first thing they had to do was a single run to check out the track, mustang goes first--he does nothing,he was a local anyway and had ran the car there before.Brian does his run--car looked good.So during negotiations, the other guy is bitchen, talking about the cars are only suppose to run 11s and crying.---Brian made a mistake and fell for it,gave him 3 lengths on the first run.The damn mustang, carries the tires about 10 feet--easly a mid 9 second car--Brian losses, but stays within 2 lengths.Bad news is we hear the motor knocking and Brian says it fell on its face about 3/4 down.2nd run,Brian gets 2 lengths--motor sounding horrible,he losses by 1,but he screwed up and came of the nitrious button. So now 3rd race--took forever for the negotiate. Its heads up,Brian is running on 7 cylinders--but has yet to launch it out of the hole on Nitrious. They line up and --damn--they stop brian--hes leaking some oil---them
Boom!!!,The other car blows right there.Brian is still at the line and running but they give the race to the other guy because brian had the problem first--5 seconds before the mustang blows up---Oh well **** happens
But what was pathetic--the Guy that runs the track--banned the other guy from comming back--he not only blew oil all over, but was running antifreeze and that was all over the track.--Everyone wanted a double d.q--but pinks didn't see it that way and awarded it to the other guy.
Ps--anyone know a kid that lost his Honda at M.I.R
10 second honda civic--he lost his car to a guy with a camaro, from what I heard the kid actually cried when they took his car home!

At first i thought the premise for the show was great, then i saw how they ran the races and how RETARTED the host of the show is. at least get someone who knows SOMETHING about cars and their performance. the arbitor should at least be knowledgeable enough about the vehicles AND racing in general to know when someone is sandbagging or holding back.
Also, some of the guys i've seen on that show are complete scumbags. It may have been the first episode where two F-bodies raced and one guy showed up in a legitimate street car and the other guy trailered in his weekend bracket racer. any car that has the kind of performance advantage that was evident between those cars will certainly ALWAYS win unless it blows up, in which case the guy with the lesser car isn't rewarded in NEARLY the same way as the guy with the higher performance car when he wins.
just shoot the host in the head and make them dial in their cars in isolation from one another. once both dial-ins are set then they get displayed on the timing boards. line the cars up and run it like a bracket race. if you break out, you lose. if you run closer to your dial-in than the other guy, you win. this way you don't have to deal with some douche-bag dumbass letting you get screwed out of a fair race because he couldn't tell the other guy was sandbagging.

The show is about guys on the street betting their title on a street race. the only reason it's held at a track is because street racing has become such a big legal/safety issue. Original street racers didn't have bracket races with a countdown, they had a guy waving his hand to start the race. The winner is normally the guy who outsmarts his opponent before the race, it has very little to do with how evenly matched the cars are.
