mark me down fellas..guess i hav to wake up early then all up 95 to curcuit city then back down to the bbq but hey she will be fun..yea im trying to finalize the little things like geting new alt mine is 85% dead and i just sold my fd alt and the new engine only has 85 mles on her so far but it will be a good break in trip..

 

Good and bad news!

Good: Wheels are done and they look fantastic!

Bad: I have a sidewall bubble in the front drivers side tire, which will cause me to fail state inspection. I can't order another tire to replace the bad one, as they have been discontinued. (GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3) I didn't want to have two different pairs of tires on my car, so I ordered all new ones (BF GoodRich g-Force sport).

Tire Rack says they will arrive at PBC by Thursday morning. PBC says that will leave plenty of time to get the new ones mounted and balanced. Lets hope so, because if not, then I won't be making it on Saturday.

Mike, you're obviously going to super detailed inspection stations...there are plenty who won't even look anywhere near as closely to fail you for that...

Bad news for me; my car def. won't be ready in time, so I dunno if I'm gonna make it out (not tryin to rock the FB...)

I have two different sets of tires on my car right now.

I'm not too worried about it anyway because the paint is horrible on the passenger side. I'll be driving it up there, but I don't think I'll be parking inside.
Peeling/faded paint from a PO's crappy side repaint isn't attractive.

 

Rock da fb w/ 4 sale sign on it! You're makin' it hard to keep my checkbook in my pocket!

 

Got the car back, and I'm good to go for Saturday morning at Circuit City! 8:30am.

I'm def going to be there too. I have one of my friends riding with me to take a video of the caravan on the drive up there. Thank god for convertibles

I spoke too soon...bad new fellas I just snapped my clutch fork while backing the car out to detail it for the BBQ...so yet another MD BBQ that the FD and I will miss last minute :-( Have fun...

Nick, that's why you install the UPGRADED OEM clutch fork when you swap clutches...

trust me...if it wouldn't have happened at 7:30pm....and a little earlier today you better believe I would have gone by Ray's and picked up a clutch fork and pulled an all nighter to swap that thing out! I am just debating whether to show up in the TL and either ride with someone else or just take the DD there.

 

It was a nice turnout, even for a caravan!!! We need to make these trips more often...I was able to improve my compression as a result and the car can start without throttle assist from my right foot YeY, now only 1200miles to go :-/

I really enjoyed the show. I thought there were going to be more people driving up there with us but it was nice anyway. I have the video of the drive up there if anyone wants it. Its not the best quality but its something.

^^^I hear ya Vlad. I was just extremely bummed something like had to happen the night before...but I am fortunate it happened in my garage and not on the way there or on the way home! the show just wouldn't have had the same effect without the fd there. I have a feeling my car is going to be down for a long while as I might just use this as a time to pull the entire engine/ tranny and rebuild the trans. all together and then repaint/re-coat everything in the engine bay :-)
