Exclamation Need a rotary specialist in within tri-state*

Hello guys, I have a 93' FD with about 67K on the ODO and the car leaks coolant profusely when the car warms up. I ran it by my local Mazda and they are telling me I need a new engine and on top of that want a rediculous amount of money to do the job. So I am here today looking for a specialist. A professional who is reputable and I can trust wiht my investment not only for now but long term. I live in CT and am willing to travel a bit, but not to far. I love the car and I can't leave itin the garage forever. I personally don't see where I went wrong wiht the engine I had it checked by another mechanic and he doesn't know either. I wish I could figure it out myself and would love to learn about the engine but I do not have the time or equipment to do the job. So straight to the point I am possibly in need of a rebuild. I want to take it to the right shopand I am posting this thread to hear your suggestions. I do not know of any shops that specialize in Rotary around here. Help me out if you can and if you by chance run the shop please shootme a pm.

And while you wait for your rebuild, it isn't a bad idea to start reading all the FAQ's that are sticky'd at the top of this section. It may give you a few more "reliability" mods to have done while you are getting the build. Things you may feel comfortable doing, or things you may want your builder to do. Goodfella and Rotary Experiment are 2 very good suggestions, send them a PM.

I only use IRP to maintain my car. They have done an awesome job and are really great guys in general.

You said you were willing to travel. Its only about 2-3 hours drive to most places in the NYC/NNJ area.

Thumbs up F.R. Rocket's L.L.C. located in Greenwich Ny 12834

I don't know if you would be willing to travel this far but we are 7 owners as well as 7 techs we have had more then our fare share of 7's just bought # 16 today 14 and 15 are in our driveway lol. 16 needs a rebuild from low comp, and we have a 90 GTU coming from Massachusetts for a rebuild we would be more then happy to help you out and we are super fare. We only charge 45-65 an hour depending on what work is being done. Rather then just running a $90 or so flat rate like everyone else our goal is to get the wrench time in and accomplish something other then emptying your wallet and fixing your car "good enough". Its a long way to travel and we understand. We just want to let you know that if you want the work done we're down. F.R. Rocket's L.L.C. are the only Rotary mechanics in the area, we use to have Cooley motors collision account in which we got every damaged car. Whether it was a scratched hood or major accident. So we know some dealership folks and they don't really work on the rx7's or rx8's much. If a motor comes in blown they replace it instead of doing a rebuild. Its sad when the dealerships don't dig in anymore its just not cost efficient for them to tie up the bay for a rebuild.

We're a small operation but we have a good sized portfolio of current and past customers ranging from Buick Grand Nationals,Viper's,subaru's,hondas etc. We are performance oriented and tailor to anyones needs, be it an exhaust's or a 700HP 5.7L small block chevy build, or our favorite rotary's.

There's always KDRotary, now Speed Center, but he's probably 4-5 hours from you.

Very good reputation.

Go to Google Maps and type in Speed Center in New Tripoli, PA for the exact location.
