Hey Chris - Not in greenwich I'll tell you that! Everything there is way to expensive. I'd go one town to the East, Stamford. The commute shouldn't be to ridiculous, but you won't pay the Greenwich Premium, Norwalk would be better but the commute could get tedious. I95 is CONSTANTLY backed up with traffic. It's disgusting, it really is. That's where I'd look though, Stamford or Norwalk.

About 25 miles north. However. Depeding on what your hours are, will dictate where you should think to move. The drive north is going to suck ***** - the traffic starts to back up in norwalk around the morning rush hour and it doesn't start to thin out until ~7' oclock. I'm not shitting you either... it's AWEFUL. I know one guy that lives in southbury and drives a little over an hour, he's working at the Austin dealership across the street from you. But he's leaving @ 6 in the morning or earlier to beat the traffic. Short term leases are your friend

Dude, the rotary guys in lower Fairfield county are exploding. We have many guys here in Stamford. Not sure how much your looking to spend, but expect to pay around $2000-3000mth for a 1-2 bedroom apartment.

Hit me up on AIM spankmywankel

I'm in North Fairfield country but I'd love to get together with some rotary guys - Hit me up when you get around for sure.

$2-3,000 in greenwich stamford is about right. When you go farther north things get cheaper quick. Still about 2x the national average. Let me know the neighborhood in Stamford, I lived there for 28 years and know that dump like the back of my hand. It actually was a great town, but the douchebag mayor that's been on office entirely too long ruined the city fast. Norwalk is good, New Caanan would be a nice cummute if you could find something affordable

John - what this about a lotta rotary guys in fairfield county? I only know of two and I'm one of them. Are there weekly meets where we just drive around and laugh at all the neon's and neoned fart-cannon civics?

Well,

Guess im looking farther north by a bit or for a roommate... lol... I got a pretty good job im moving up there for, but not quite up to those standards for "starting" pay.

I am trying to figure out how to manage to either get another RX or get my current one up the the NE. It has a few problems right now, and I just dont have the time to fix them before I am supposed to start work in greenwich. Its kinda a heartbreaker right now...

I look forward to getting up there and hanging out with fellow Rotary lovers... Specially since right now I only know maybe 2 people in all of CT... lol

Yeah Chris hit me up when you get to this neck of the woods. Roommates are common around here sadly. It's just stupid expensive.

When you say Flushing Meadows are you talking about Queens? Yeah John, I might be down for a cruise down that direction. What are the details?

Scorp7, be advised that everyone in Ct seems to believe that everything EAST of Greenwich is "NORTH" b/c I95 says so. I only say this b/c it gets confusing when you talk to people when you first get there. Also, if you are not renting consider some of the towns in the NY/Westchester that border CT. If you were buying then ignore the above.

Just to clarify - when I said North, I mean NORTH. I said one town to the East, that is Stamford. 2 more to the East is Norwalk. Those are still expensive but they don't carry the Greenwich premium. North would be into westchester where the RENTS are cheaper but the taxes are outrageous. North in CT would be around New Caanan where prices on rentals are meh, but the taxes on homes are silly. I said North & I meant north. Lets put it this way, last I saw the stats the national average price for a home was ~$240M, price in CT was ~$270M, Fairfield County was ~$570M......... stupid expensive and for no other reason other than it's becoming more and more absorbed by the city. & yes, eventually you along with everyone else will start referring to NYC as "the city" It is inevitable, it is............ your destiny

Will do my new rotary friend. But I have a ? for you. Driving home today, north on 123 right after I passed the intersection of 106 I spotted parked in a parking lot a Red S4 GXL?? Bologna slicer wheels..... anyone..... anyone....? Even more interesting I saw for the longest time a gold S4 base in the Sunoco up the street in Vista, couldn't miss it, it had a roof rack. More interestingly I've seen a few times, not recently though a blonde drivning what appears to be a, S4 red TII spotted on 116. I really want to talk to the blonde but any ideas??

There is a guy in Stamford with a red T2 and Red 88na, might be him. There is also that lady who drives around that know one knows. I just found a 85 Se with a wide body kit and a huge hood scoop over by my sister in laws. I'm going back today to get pics of it.

They are popping up all ove r the place!

P.S. NYC is called "The City"
