Moving To Akron

I'll be coming up from Houston to Akron in about 10 days to start a 6 month I.T. contact for Yellow/Roadway Freight in Akron. If the job is mutually satisfying , it might last 2 years. This is just a temporary move, leaving the cats and wife back in Houston.

If there is any Mazda club close by, let me know. Even though I'll be bringing up the Protege 5, should I bring my DATALOGIT, O2 wideband, and laptop to help people tune FDs?

Thumbs up

Cool! I live just east of Akron, and there aren't really any overly knowledgable people in the area when it comes to FDs, especially modified ones until you get over into PA or down towards Columbus. I have read tons of your posts and they have been very helpful and informative. As far as bringing your datalogit and wideband, I may put you to work on my car come spring if you would be willing. It's been tuned by Jason at the RX-7 Store, but it could use a little touch up here and there. Besides, I would like to see if I could gleen a little knowledge of the PFC from you. I also know of a (somewhat) local who will be putting a turbo 13bre into a first gen over the winter and although I can't speak for him, I'm sure he will be needing some tuning come springtime too. When you get up this way look me up if you have some time, I'll PM you my email address.

Regards,
Dennis

From reading this forum and others it sounds like this is a recurring theme.

In all fairness to Jason, he has been more than willing to help with the touch ups, but it's about a 2 hour drive each way for me to get there and back. This also makes cold start and warm up problems a bit troublesome to work on since the car takes quite some time to cool completely after a 2 hour highway run. I will say this, for the most part the car runs way better since Jason tuned it.

yes it is. you should have seen what chuck had to say about jason's maps in my car and my experience dealing with that moron. just b/c you have a computer doesn't mean you know how to tune...

Chuck, have fun over there. an IT project with roadway sounds like a nice gig!

I did not bad mouth Jason but stated that the timing in a certain area was way too advanced even by my standards for the mods given for the engine.
Everyone makes mistakes once in a while, and it might not even been directly done by Jason.

Owners start a shop by themselves and might have high standards. But as a shop grows newer workers are brought in and trained. Sometimes they make the mistakes. I have seen a bad engine from Pettit

http://www.pettitracing.com/flash.htm

but I doubt that Cameron directly built the engine.

I am now in an apartment in Cuyahoga.

Alberto Im getting sick of you blaming me for your problems. That car ran great when we broke it in, ran great when we tuned it and ran great for the old owner. Then out of know where you buy that car and claim it has a bad engine.

Im going to do you a favor. Pull your engine and send it to me. I will open it up and see if there is a problem with it. If there is we will fix it. If there isnt a problem with it you are going to be charged $600 for disassembling it and putting it back together. So basically we are honoring the warranty even though we are not obligated. Now that I have offered that shut your mouth and either take it or leave it.

If you decide to not take my offer and continue to slander my name then you will be banned from this forum.

Really? please direct me to all these threads about people having issues with my tuning. If anyone has had an issue its with the fluctuating idle and cold start which is hard to address when the car is warmed up and coming off a dyno.

Wow! I didn't mean to start any kind of war here, for that I am sorry. But I feel I must speak up and restate what I said above. My car runs WAY better since Jason tuned it. Is it perfect? No. But it is way better. The problems I have are as Jason eluded to above, with idle and stalling when not fully warmed up. As Jason and I both stated, these are tough problems to solve when the car has to be driven two hours just to get to him. I could borrow a trailer and tow the car but to be honest, the minor issues I have with the car just aren't that big of a deal. Could the car be tuned better? Yes. Do I think I got my moneys worth from Jason? Yes. I cannot and will not speak to anyone else's problems with Jason as I don't know the facts and could only therefore speculate. I think enough has been said as this thread has turned into something it was never intended to be.

And to Chuck, my offer still stands. Look me up if you get bored or need some information about the area. I assume by Cuyahoga, you mean Cuyahoga Falls. I grew up just across the line on the north side of Akron, so I know the area well. There is a Mazda dealer on the north end of State Road called Cascade Mazda. This is in no way an endorsment, but I do know that they sponsor several owner's clubs. Not sure if there is much support for the Protege' , but they do have clubs for the Porsche and Miata guys.

Yep, after reading one of Chuck's posts as a matter of fact. Thanks Chuck! That cured the stalling after a little fiddling with the adjustments on the uim. The car's been put away now since the beginning of November right after passing the E-Check sniffer test. Which by the way, it was running much cleaner this time than before tuning. Thanks Jason.

Shall I look though the "good guy bad guy section"? And I am not going to give you the off site links. Because you seem to follow people around and harass them if they have a problem with you.

So you linked 3 of the same thread with only one person (Alberto) having an issue? and it cant even be proven that it was tuning that caused the problem. Nice!

No actually there are 3 separate people in those threads. And one of them you followed to another forum and harrased him.

Here is another - http://www.northstarrotaries.com/ven...sp?vendorid=68

Another- http:// https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=rx7store

Another- https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=rx7store

This stuff is littered all over the internet, all over this forum, and others. I could go on and on but i dont feel like putting the effort in to it.

Chuck I apologize for high jacking your thread. I didn’t mean for it to turn in to a hate fest, or some pissing match.

I apologize.

Pimp

NICE............. you erased one of the threads. That only goes to prove you got **** to hide.

Honest stand up business men would not have done that.

Pimp Hand or should I say Adam (aka. Venom2u) You had switch names because you were proven to be a pathological liar. If anyone wants a good laugh please read this thread from a local forum. Pimphand made him self look like such an ***. His name is Venom in that thread. Skip to the end where he just starts flat out lying to everyone there.

You have posted 2 threads that have nothing to do with tuning and 2 that mention my tuning, but one is posted by yourself and one is Alberto. Your opinion means nothing to me. How is your 10sec car running by the way?

I love how you just went over to North Star Rotaries and posted. Way to give yourself away, dumbass.

Well I’m not "Adam" but you are free to think what you want. You still have not addressed what I said. You treat your customers with total contempt, and you have terrible business practices.

Just like I said a stand up honest business man would not have erased a thread to hide what he had done.

Any from what you just posted, you just confirmed that you do stalk people that have a problem with you.

And i just got this in a PM from some one

".......... cant believe jason treats you like that on the forum. He is horrible at customer support and always tries to blame the customer for problem cars, its never the shop or any of the workers or parts they used.

I live 10 minutes from the RX-7store. And I wont take my car there.

I dont like posting Jason-bashing on this forum because he owns it and I'll get banned. Plus I see him on occasion in Columbus. But, yes, that place sucks "

haha you are so full of ****. So you want me to believe that its coincidence that you are on here posting about my tuning and there is a review on North Star Rotaries about my tuning on the same day, but you are not the Adam that posted that.
