Mazdaspeed Corral at Limerock, May 23-26th, 2008 (Grand-Am Series)

Hey Guys,

For those of you who don’t know about the Rolex GT series which as numerous 20B powered Mazda RX-8s from Speedsource, Racers Edge, Goldwin Brother and Team Spencer. This year we will be holding our 2nd Annual Mazdaspeed Corral, sponsored by Mazdaspeed and put together by Marlon Sumlin of Cleveland 6 Club, Ray Gonzalvo of Mazda6club, and NYRA/CTRA/NJRA.

Last years event was great and i would like to get the ball rolling on this years event early to ensure we have sufficient parking. Last year we had between 100-150 Mazda vehicles (mainly miatas) but we also had RX-7's, RX-8's Mazda protege, Mazda 3 and Mazda 6's.

If you wish to find out about how to request tickets before they go on sale to the public follow the instructions on my website at http://nyrotary.com/Pages/Mazda_Corr...eRock_2008.htm

This will be offered on a first come first serve basis. The more applicants we receive the more space we can hold at this year’s event.

Some features of the event

1. Mazda only designated parking
2. Catered Lunch/Drinks
3. Three laps around LIME ROCK Racetrack (ONLY FOR MAZDAS)
4. Meet and Greet with the Mazda Rotary Race teams (so far on board is Speedsource and Racer's Edge, more to come!!!)
5. Discounted multi-day passes
6. Free Mazdaspeed Merchandise (based on last year’s program)

So please jump on this as fast as you can, visit www.nyrotary.com to keep track of the progress of all the Mazda RX-8's. (Direct link http://nyrotary.com/Pages/racingevents.htm)

Hope to have a big rotary showing this year!!!!!!!!!

Doty's Rotaries 02-03-08 01:22 PM

This sounds like a lot of fun. Even if they're parade laps...it's still LIME ROCK. Everyone has gotta start somewhere.

Doty's Rotaries 02-03-08 01:23 PM

Is this a free event for Mazda owners?

BillM 02-03-08 01:57 PM

Hey roan, email me the info requested on the NYRA webapge. Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. We will go down the list of names in the order they are received.

It will be a lot of fun, on top of the rotary mazda race teams we will also have meet and greets with other race teams like Tripoint Engineering, Tindol Motorsports and BK Motorsports to name a few.

Jason

Turbo23 02-03-08 10:11 PM

argh! Id totally be there, but thanks to the damn military deployments Ill me missing this one! However, Ill be at some other rolex races with the speed3 this year

ROTARYROCKET7 02-03-08 11:24 PM

Aww that sucks Turbo23. We are also working on Watkins Glens, Mid-Ohio, and going to try for the NJ motorsports park. We had one in FL for the 24 hours but i couldnt attend =(

matty 02-04-08 05:56 PM

i am down. the drive up to limerock is fun enough

John64 02-04-08 06:06 PM

The drive up last year was a blast even though it was Jay and I.

ROTARYROCKET7 02-04-08 09:32 PM

Last year for 4 days it was $75, but you can buy each day independently, some were $15 others were $25. Depends on which day you want to go. If $$ is tight, then just go for the main event. AS SOON as i get pricing i will post it up (NOTE THESE ARE LAST YEARS PRICES)

Doty's Rotaries 02-05-08 08:04 AM

Last year's prices don't look like that much for the whole event. Since I only live about 30mins. from the track, I'd be a fool to miss this one.

87 t-66 02-05-08 10:30 AM

where can i get one of those mazdaspeed tshirts? :naughty:

ROTARYROCKET7 02-05-08 12:31 PM

^^ by coming to the event

mono4lamar 02-05-08 08:02 PM

Jay you know I'll be there... Can I rip ass on the track or is it a "cruise" deal?

Turbo23 02-05-08 08:12 PM

hmm well since i cant make it, someone mind grabing me a extra mazdapeed shirt?!

John64 02-05-08 08:47 PM

Its a pace car deal the day of the race, but its very limited. Last year they had a special sign up through mazdaspeed for 50 peeps. The CT Miata club rolled deep and took many of the spots. We gotta sign up guys, get that info over to Jay!

matty 02-06-08 07:58 AM

parade kind of gay......never the less the ride up will be fun, hanging with some rotary peeps, and the overall scene will make this a fun time

rotory4life 02-06-08 08:28 AM

I'll be going down with my boss. Mazdaspeed invited us to go.. SO i might not be with you guys on the convoy there....Have fun driving there,I will meet you guys there.. OHHHH yea the team I work for Berg Racing, We just brought an RX-8 to be build for a road race car....

John64 02-06-08 05:08 PM

Just found out they are having the CT State BBQ Championships at the same time on Sunday at LimeRock!

John64 02-14-08 07:42 AM

Jay, you get any more info?

ROTARYROCKET7 02-14-08 06:20 PM

can u summarize the difference between the two days in terms of events? is there an agenda somewhere?

John64 03-03-08 07:00 PM

Matty, PM jason with your contact info to get on the list. As for the event Sunday the 25th is just a prep day for the teams. We get to go through the paddocks and meet and greet the teams (its a blast). They usually have a classic car show that day and the CT BBQ championships. Monday is race day. The first 50 people signed up and paid (when ever that is) gets to get 2-3 paraid laps before the race gets going. Then its zoom zoom zoom! Hope that helps

ROTARYROCKET7 03-03-08 09:19 PM

Yeah what john said. Just send in your name, and that will get you on the list. A month before the event the final schedule will be posted and you can purchase which ever tickets you want. You dont have to select the days now. I will post a pricing breakdown for each day and what is being offered.

Follow the link on the first post and follow the instructions. Thanks

Jason NYC

ROTARYROCKET7 03-19-08 05:19 PM

Hello I have a new update. Its a short one so dont worry.

I have added a new team to the Mazdaspeed Corral called RILEY RACING. Mr. Jameson Riley raced last year in the KONI Challenge for Volvo but this year he will be racing with a Speedsource Built Renesis Mazda RX-8 in the Street Tuner Division. I just finished speaking with Mr. Riley and he is on board for the Corral.

KONI Challenge is oriented more towards productions vehicles than the 20B powered Mazda RX-8's in the Rolex GT series.

These RX-8 in the ST division of KONI will be racing on Saturday May 24th 2008, and the Rolex GT will be on Monday May 26th 2008.

Seems like this is going to be a rotary fun filled 4 days event =).
