Regarding MD inspection....
My time's running out to get my 240SX inspected, and i'm tired of dropping cash on retarded inspection guys that are just looking to take my money...
Anybody know a decent place to go that won't fail me on first sign of legal modifications?

umm, the exxon near my dad's house is pretty cool, my car was slightly modified when I got it inspected... (he didn't say anything about my abs being overriden...) you should pm sung (sgof) and ask him if his friend's shop can do inspections.

My friend's shop does not do inspections. However, BWI Autotech in catonsville, MD is where I always take my car to. They are very familiar with what mods are what, etc. They actually raced (road racing) an FD back in the days (I'm talking early 90's). Amazing car, considering the fact that back in 1995, it was pulling 11.5's in the 1/4 and thats not even what it was built for. It's neat looking through the engine bay at '1995 technology', lol.
Anywho. They are very strict and will look over your car in terms of whats on the list. But, like I said, if they see a legal substition, they understand it.
A couple of the mechanics there are 240sx owners as well...

Do you guys know anybody that would be able to swap an engine from an 82 to an 85(they are both 12a's)? I called around to some shops and the only one that would give me a quote told me $1000. I was thinking that is kinda steap. If you know anybody aim me (stinkyboards411) or PM me.

If you have an 85 GSL-SE No, that's a 13b. and it is not a direct swap, it's actually a downgrade. 1000 seems about right from a shop that has no rotary exp. Might want to check on the 1st gen forum for more info.
I know that they are both 12a's. The shop I called was Kerney in Virginia (it is in the list of NE Mechanics) and work on rotary cars. I was just seeing if you guys know any individuals that would be willing to do it. I would do it myself but I live in an apartment.
