Looking for any motor in NY

Hey guys, I'm looking for a running motor as I just detonated mine due to some stupidity on the timing by myself. I'm on Long Island, NY. I posted in the for sale section too, but this may get me some more local help. All I need is the short block, anything I could work with (I have a haltech), but I would prefer an S4 TII block. Don't need manifolds, alternator, harness or anything. Hell I don't even need the water pump. Just need the bare essential motor that is/was running well.

Help!

Sorry to hear about the motor, I know the guy that built that personally and it was a solid motor, new housings etc. Why not just rebuild the one you have considering it has all new parts?

Well, whoever built it forgot some important o-rings, used incorrect washers/gaskets , broken t-stat due to poor temp sensor location et cetera. That motor probably never would have lasted anyway. But of course I ended up blowing it up Fun while it lasted.

What happened was I developed an oil leak on the front cover. I pulled it with my friend, we replaced all the gaskets. Someone forced the teflon ring around the rubber o-ring and into the gasket. the gasket was going to blow. The teflon ring is sometimes needed depending on the front housing. In this case IT WAS NOT NEEDED. The next thing to blow would have been that ring/washer causing me to lose oil pressure and kill the motor anyway. Anyway... we fixed all this and put the cover back on. We must have screwed the timing up (car started up fine and ran great everything worked). I was on my way to the meet and it blew in second gear around 5500 after I nailed it.

I will rebuild it, but for the time being I need to get running ASAP so I can get myself to work!

Know of any motors locally? I may have found one in brooklyn, but I would like to keep my options open. I tried to PM you but your message box is full. I'll try to IM you if I see you are online.

Thanks everyone!

The guy that built it, his name is Ravi. He's from Queens. I'm surprised since I know he builds good motors. I've seen him build some very high HP motors that last for a while. Either way good luck with the project.
