Found this on another forum, never knew about this club trying to get a track out in Long Island. Thought i'd pass on the word and thread where we can keep track of whats going on.

Long Island will probably never have anything more than Riverhead Raceway.
There's just not enough people interested in auto racing to support it.
Otherwise the Westhampton Speedway (first purpose built dragstrip in the US) and Bridgehampton Raceway http://bridgehamptonraceway.com/ (first purpose built road course in the US) would not have been turned into housing developments and golf courses.
Face it you're up against the NIMBY crowd in the world.
