Interested in FD with blown engine
I'm in southwestern PA and looking for an FD with a blown engine. A straight body is a must (no wrecks). Small dings don't bother me too much.

Nope, stock Mazda Reman engine, can't take away the heart and soul of the car that has been my dream car since I was 11. Nothing against V8 swaps though if its your thing. I happen to love the rumble of a well done up V8 (someday I hope to have a nice one in a Cobra replica with independent rear suspension). Rather have that than an SR20 or something along those lines.
Why not find a running car? Is changing the engine just something you've always wanted to do? Just curious, not trying to give you a hard time. I've just found that most cars with bad engines (mine included, I got it as a rolling chassis missing lots of parts) aren't taken care of near as well as complete cars.
If I had mine to do over again, I would have paid more for a complete car, sold off the working rotary and associated parts, and then converted it.
I still think the "heart and soul of the car" thing is amusing as hell, but I won't bash you for it or anything. It just makes me smile is all

Money is the issue. Thats pretty much it.
My brother gives me crap about rotaries all the time so I'm used to it. The funny thing is, he's never worked with one. I've never worked with a V8 (I have done a few rotaries) so I don't have any room to talk about them not that I would anyway because I like them. He just got a 400 smallblock shortblock 2 weeks ago and I am going to work on that with him so that I can learn the ways of the V8. I'm also gonna teach him a thing or two about EFI with the engine. Frankly I can't wait.
