My name is Alex. I just moved to Mass, and bought my first rx7. Do I need to keep the cat on the car, the car is a 1989. I was told that they no longer do emissions inspections, but they of course will do a visual, will they fail me if they do not see a cat on my car?

The inspection shops are still required to do a visual inspection. So, yes, if they check and you don't have one you will fail and can be fined in addition.
