Hey i need some help i'm new to the club
I just got a 1988 GTU yesterday and it's cleaner then any other i've ever seen and its fully stock; all original parts and condition. I mean whoever owned it never drove it at all. There are parts on this car i promise you won''t find on any other of these models, I promise you. But, its so special because it's all original and in such good condition. But, i don't like the color. So, should I paint it or keep it in its original form because I have come to learn its more exclusive to have a original looking rx7 with all its parts over a supered up one? and also dose anyone have any advice for me on how to keep this car looking and feeling so immaculate like what kind of oil should i use, how often should i get a tune up, how can i keep the engine so clean that kind of thing?
What's the mileage?
Getting the car painted a different color will definetly devalue it.
See how you feel about the color in a month, it may grow on you.
You can replace stock parts without devaluing the car, just don't throw them way.
Store them carefully, but don't do any mods that require any cutting, welding, etc...
Keep an eye on the oem radiator, the top and bottom plastic peice have a habit of splitting.
Front strut tower brace, Tokico HP shox, good brake pads would be all I'd do at first.
Do all the maintenance, learn the car, and enjoy.

I agree with niburu. I had the radiator split on the top on my 89 GTU. If it is a true GTU, you are right about the parts. Every one wants that limited slip rear end you have. Keep the origninal color. I think it looks great for being 18 years old. I wish mine was that nice. Someday it will be after I get the FD done.
