Handicapping Hockey in the MD/DC/NVA area

Anyone in the MD/DC/NVA area kicking as much *** as I am on the new NHL rules this year. I am 18 - 3 this season to the tune of +2600. Anyone want to get together one of these night and cap some games? We might even be able to get a thread started here.

alright well I will go first then.

No action tonight I am laying off from my -340 loss last night on Toronto. I capped the game perfectly. Washington had not scored over three goals all season until last night. Biggest factor in my loss was Toronto benched there #1 goally Ed Belfour and went with the backup goal tender. Final was 5-4 Wash. The backup goal tender gave up 2 power play goals which were easy stops for any NHL starter and one short handed goal which I could have even stopped with a beer in one hand. I see no real value in tonights action. One game that sticks out is the Van/Cal. I would be all over this game but Calgary's goal tending has been stellar as of late and Vancover does not really have a large offense that will blow anyone out this year so I am laying. Back tomorrow night with my action and why.

Tonight I am on the rebound with Toronto over the Caps. -300

Ed Belfour is back between the pipes and should be solid as a rock. Hit em hard and make your book hurt.

back tonight with Carolina -135 over Buffalo. Buffalo is going with a backup goalie and the Canes are really strong on the offense and defensive end. This is a small play onner for a quick 1 unit. Basically taking what we made last night on this play to get ready for Fridays monster.

www.freewinners.com

20-3 eh?? wow you are on fire. Hope you been playing Vancouver some this season.

So do you just play money line ?? or Puck lines also??

I usually only play NCAAF/NFL, and some NHL when some wiseguys post their plays..
Goodluck... and please do not use the word " LOCK "

Slingshot,

I mostly play money line. Its a all around better play than taking the -1.5
New NHL rules will make the puck line a thing of the past. The NHL wants OT shootouts. Its better for ratings and thats what they need.

Using the word "Lock" This can be used in hockey and never should be used in football. Football uses a jacked up point spread system that buffs the power ranking numbers by 3 points and then adds another 3 points for home field advantage. This is a horrible system but it garrantees the books always collect. In football you will never have a long winning streak. The system is not designed for that.

Now hockey is completely different and with the new rules teams can no longer get a lead in the third quarter and "sit on the puck" and coast to a victory like they could last year. Now the with red line elimated you have to seriously playout the entire game and if you noticed hooking penaties are about 6 per game these days giving the odd man advantage for better TV ratings. In hockey any time a team at the bottom of the power rankings is going with their backup goalie against a team in the top 4 of the power rankings that its considered a "Lock" because the coach decided that he didn't have much of a chance to win the game anyway so now is a good time to rest his #1 goal tender.

Sling I got it handed to me on Sat night with Canes over ATL. It was 5-0 in the first 3 min of the game. I lost 9 units on that game. I would have been all over Ottawa but didn't want to lay the -165 and minus 1.5
Should have. I had planned to take the 14 units and let it ride on LA over the Blue jackets but the Canes night before runied my plans for a 2k week.
22-5

I guess thats why they call it gambling.
