Guys I need some help with a 88 vert
Ok as normal the 2nd gen section did not help much.I picked up a vert I use to own a couple of years ago(no problems).I was told the car was sitting for around 8 months and not cranked up(Old lady I trust said it was fine ).I put a new battery in it and drove it home but it was stuttering real real bad.Figured it was bad gas.It smelled like bad gas.I got all the gas out till it died on its on and put another 4 gallons or so in it with some good fuel injector cleaner and some octane boost and changed the fuel filter. No go! still doing the same thing.Ran that gas out and just added another 4 gallons or so to it with some injector cleaner and its just falling on its face. When you first start it and cold it will not even idle untill about 2 minutes and then ruff idle untill fully warmed up but still has drives like crap.
I took the fuel pump out and checked the sock,it looked good and fuel pressure is 77psi so thats fine.
And put new plugs in.
How long could it possibly take to get any remaining bad gas out?
Possibly injectors not working properly?
Its driving me nuts and like I said really bad when cold, clears up alot when warmed up
any suggestions???

it sounds more like a TPS problem, but what I would do is perform a marvel mystery oil de-carb treatment on it, starting it back up and letting it clear out with the old plugs and when its cleared out put the new plugs back in.
I always adjust TPS by feel, a tiny adjustment goes a long way, turn it a tiny bit when the car is cold and try to start it, if it seems worse go the other way, if it gets better try a tiny bit more.
If that doesnt work then it might be a leaky injector or dampener, and you may want to think about checking compression as well
I have bought and sold more FCs with stupid little problems like you described and with a little playing around they will run fine again.
