MD Good inspection shops?

As title states. I've bought a new DD since my lovely Integra finally coughed up black oily blood at 246K (still tearing down to the block, but I expect to find an oil ring missing.) I'll probably finish getting the car repaired and sell it to a college student or someone who needs a cheap car. I'd keep it, but I need a car that can be relied upon to do 1,000 miles without notice for work and it just won't last long reliably with my mileage

On to the DD. I've never had to get a car through inspections before, I've always mandated that the seller do it, but the DD (Honda Civic) was at a good price and I'd already had one snatched out from under me so I just offered to buy and get it inspected later. Now that I have to do that, does anyone know a shop that won't try to screw me over and then charge me $100 for the trouble? I'm thinking about Caton Auto Mall, since I've heard decent things about them, but it's a bit of a haul from my house in Montgomery Village.

They did mine as far as a rotary shop goes...
But any shop will do it... it should b 30??40 bucks..if it's gonna pass
do u know if its gonna fail??? if so shops just charge a bit extra...

Just make it known that the car is probably not gonna pass. And ask what can they do for u. If they want to fix it, say youll think about it ..... and leave. LOL

In the BX it still goes for like 70 - 90 if u know its gonna fail. (But u want them to pass it).
If not and everything is OK, and u know it'll pass..30/40 bucks...N go to any shop..

^ I'm from MD, so I need a MD inspection The issue is that some shops will deliberately fail the car unless they get to throw $200-$500 of bogus repairs into the bill. The car will pass a fair safety inspection, but I've seen enough inspection reports to know that they're not all fair. The guy I used to use has gone out of the business.

I like middlebrook exxon in germantown.

I've gotten a few inspections done there, and there good honest guys. They'll only charge you for stuff that's actually broken, and they're cool with you bringing in your own replacement parts. (I brought them a junkyard header for my miata and they were totally cool with it )
