Good A/C shop in Northern VA?

I tried searching, but to no avail...

Does anybody know of any good shops in the northern Virginia area that can work on, or recharge the R12 a/c unit on a 1993 FD? Perferably a shop that someone has had experience with. Thanks in advance for any replies.

If you can find a supply of R12, I can re-charge your system...

I went to Midas. They did a complete test for about $40 and that's about as far as they got. I have a leak in mine and they wanted to charge me over $300 dollars to replace the broken hose/pipe. yellowpages.com shows Morty's Auto Care or Meineke in McLean. My A/C has been out of R12 for over 4 years now. I miss it. Good luck.

J&L Auto Electric just did the A/C on my car. They're a good place, No B.S. or other interference. They've been doing A/C and electrical stuff for 40 years. Fast service too.

Not a shop, but I have a family friend who's a certified Heating & A/C specialist. Works on home, commercial, cars, etc. He recharges the R-12 on our family cars and my friend's. He told me they just completely stopped R-12 production, so do it while you can. I can prob set up a day if you guys want to have him come by and recharge everyone for MUCH MUCH cheaper than any shop would change. And he's well qualified. In fact, in most cases, he can diagnose your leak if you have one...
