NY Function7 (chuch)-LONG POST!!

Hey stopping by to give a shout out to CHUCH and his gang at FUNCTION7. He hit me up on this site because he read on a previous thread I wrote that I was having car problems and was in need of new stock turbos. He provided me with his number and told me to give him a call. I did and we spoke for a few minutes. He sounded very genuine and knowledgeable on these cars and told me I should stop by and check the place out. I decided to go that same day because it was the weekend and I was home doing nothing. I drove there and as soon as I got there he introduced me to his mechanics and gave me a tour of the place. He showed me the cars and what was being worked and planned on them, he showed me around the office and also showed me his work station were he rebuilds the motors. Station was nice and tidy like it should be.He told me how he wants to fix problems right the first time and if he comes across a small problem that needs correction he likes to get at it and fix it before it becomes a bigger problem down the road. He basically said all the usual lines I've heard before from mechanics who want to grab the loot and make the run. He sounded very genuine though and made me feel like I knew him for a hot minute so I decided to give him a try. A couple of days later I tried to arrange with my tow truck guy to tow vehicle to no avail. Finally when we figured a good time for us it wasn't exactly a good time for Chuch because it was his daughters bday but he was kind enough to stop his plans for a few minutes and meet us at his shop to receive car(Sorry about that). He parked it inside his shop and told me he will start working on it first thing in the morning.I also dropped off two stock turbos with the car and he said he will examine both and pick best one to install in car. The next few days he called me with updates and provided me with pictures occasionally on the progress and hiccups he came across. He explained how many of the vacuum lines were hard and brittle and were breaking due to rotary extreme under hood heat. He said he would change most of the lines for me not to worry he won't charge me arm and a leg. He must've changed a ton. He cleaned most of my engine bay especially were there was a previous leak before on an area under hood. He took the cheap electrical tape around the battery wire leading to negative terminal and heat shrinked a line around it to make it look proper. He lubed up my driver door handle and he also undercoated the whole bottom of my FD because he had a couple cans left of it and thought it was right thing to do. He replaced one of my HKS filters because he felt one of them looked trashy and he had one in better condition stored away.He explained how someone tampered with solenoid before and he corrected that problem. He did so many other things to my car, and those are just a few. The day I picked up car he pointed out all the things he did to it. Even raised it up so I can check out the bottom of the FD with the undercoat. He even washed my car and cleaned my whole interior for me. He gave me a price that I thought was very reasonable for all the work he did for me. I was ecstatic when I saw the car for first time in few days. It looked very different. I recommend you give him a call if you have a rotary and live in the tri-state area, especially here in NY.Not once did I feel my car was in the wrong hands while I didn't have it.He made sure he drove car around the the local streets and on parkways to make sure it was running right and there were no leaks. I'm not saying your gonna get a free wash everytime you get your car, but I explained to him before he received car that it was parked behind my house collecting dust and wheel rotors surface rust. So obviously it didnt run and I couldn't take it to get washed. He listened to little detail and was able to help me out. He always listened to what my intentions and plans are with the car and offered opinions and he was mostly right with opinions he feeded me with. Not like other shop owners who try to get u to spend a ton of money to get your car to 600 HP when you dont even plan on taking your car to a track ever.Sorry for long post but you don't understand the frustration I had inside me knowing that I barely could enjoy car because its been out of service for most of the time I've had it. Car only has 89K original miles and looks sexy clean so I NEED to be enjoying it.The best part of it all is that MY TURBOS ARE WORKING GREAT!..POINT IS YOU NEED TO BRING UR CAR TO CHUCH IF YOU NEED TO GET YOUR ROTARY WORKED ON AND YOU LIVE IN THE TRI-STATE.HE EVEN WORKS ON NON-ROTARY's. HE WAS WORKING ON A SUPRA WHILE MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP AS WELL...you can reach chuch @ 516-523-4833, he's a man of his word.GIVE HIM A BUZZ NAH MEAN!!

THE DAYS OF GOING OUT OF STATE TO GET FD WORKED ON ARE OVER NOW THAT I CAME ACROSS CHUCH & HIS SHOP.PLAN ON GETTING THE ENGINE REBUILT AND POSSIBLY STREET PORTED THIS WINTER THRU HIM. GOOD LOOKS CHUCH & THE GANG!
