CT Fall Cruise, Oct 28.
Hey Everyone, I'm organizing a long overdue cruise. It's unfortunately a bit last minute, but hopefully we'll get a good group of people.
Details:
Saturday, October 28th @ 12noon - weather permitting.
Meeting up at CT Post Mall, Milford (Exit 39B off I-95).
We will be departing at 12:30 sharp, so please be on time if you don't want to be left behind!
Total time: Aprox 4hrs.
Beginning in Milford, we will work our way up route 25 and head up to New Milford. The drive will continue up route 7 and we will be stopping at Kent Falls in Kent, CT ($5 parking charge may apply) at approximately 2p. Hang out there for a little bit. People are welcome to bring sandwiches if you want to do a lunch while we are hanging out.
Cruise will continue on Route 7N to route 4E. We will then pick up 63S and make our way back down to Route 8S, to Route 34E and then pick up Merrit back to Milford and the Post Mall. We can also pick up an early dinner at one of the Mall restaurants if anyone is intersted in hanging around.
Detailed directions and a map will be given out at the meet. Route subject to change slightly...
NOTE: I will announce if the event is canceled due to whether, by next Thursday, we should have a pretty good sense of what is going to happen.
Please post on here if you are interested so I can keep track of who is coming. You can also call my cell 203 258 5588 if you have any questions.
Look forward to meeting you all!
Steve

Seems like a very long ride. 45minutes just to meet up, 4 hours and 45 minutes home. I will have to pass, but look for many more meets next year as we get the CT Rx club up and running.

Guys its 1 hour 30 mins max one way. its a sick ride thru the country. Some of these roads are the most scenic and fun to drive in the NE. i cant wait.
i strongly suggest some of you new yorkers come up. Milford isnt far at all from NYC. i make the commute from ct/ny border everyday.
i Cant see why people from MA couldnt meet us at kent to hang out if u dont want to do the cruise. Even guys from upstate ny are close to KEnt. its north western CT.
This meet/cruise is a great way to finish off the yr. after this i am putting her to sleep.

John, I realize not everyone is going to be 5 mins away from the starting point. But the whole point is for everyone to get on the road together. I think it would be awesome to see a crew of Rx7's cruisin along together, no? And getting a chance to hang out and meet some fellow enthusiats. Personally, I'd think this is more fun than driving 2 hrs just to stand in a parking lot for an hour. I've done that enough times.
Matt has a good suggestion for those of you who may not want to drive all the way down. If you are interested in meeting up with us in Kent at the Falls, esp you Mass guys, that's totally fine with me. We should be there by 2... if all goes well.
If you leave from Milford, more than half the drive will be on back roads. But there will definitely be some highway (just to get us back as efficiently as possible). I don't do this for a living, nor do I claim that this will be "worth your time"... but having just drove on most of these roads again today while I toured a few wineries upstate. I can defintely say that I enjoy it quite a bit - and some of the views are amazing.
So, if you can make it... let me know.

Ok guys. The weather gods have spoken. I guess it's going to be a washout for Saturday. Weather.com has a 60% chance of showers on Saturday.
SUNDAY (10/29) is looking like the better of the two days. Since there is no point of doing this unless the weather is nice (I definitely don't want to drive around in the rain - wet leaves and all...) Unfortunately this is the problem with trying to set something up over a week in advance. I'm willing to reschedule it to Sunday if people think they can make it, otherwise I'd just assume postpone it to another weekend.
Please let me know, thanks!

Yea. I think that might be the way to go. The 7day outlook seems that it will be sunny. Even with a little shifting, the average of the 3 days look pretty good. There are going to be so many wet leaves all over the place tomorrow. That may not be so good.
I'll put up a different post for next week. I hope that it will work out for people and that the weather will hold!
