ok, i need to know what people want for desserts.

i can do cookies, cakes, brownies, cheesecakes, and i'd be willing to attempt a key lime pie if people will eat it. it definitely won't be made from scratch...unless i can get some good limes.

anyone who has an opinion on dessert, please PM me with your requests. i'll tally votes and go from there

I doubt I'll be having too much dessert. Doesn't go all that well with beer. But if you bring brownies I'll eat them the next day

I'm sure there will be enough nuts around that those missing from the brownies won't be missed.

Joey - if Mike's home, he'll be in tow. knowing him, we'll bring a bottle of Jack as well.
Ready or not, Uncle Doug is coming and thanks for the kind words "fal"! With respect to the considerable (if not insurmountable) age difference between yours truly and nearly everybody else in this group he may feel obliged to change his handle to Grandpa Doug. Will keep you posted.

I have more gray hair than you, Uncle Doug. Regardless of the age difference. I always tell everyone I'm 35 in years, 65 in health and 15 in spirit

I figure about 1pm is a good time for people to start rolling in. I work til midnight on Friday, so I don't want to get up TOO early to get things set up.

Whoever needs directions needs to PM me if they don't already have them. The confirmed list still looks a little weak, I'd like to let everyone know how much of what they're bringing to get!

Uncle Doug
I'd like to get some shots of my Vette next to yours. If you don't mind parking in the grass, i'll save a spot for it in the front yard where mine will be.

Sure, if you want to arrive early and help that'd be fine. I don't know that I have a ton to do, but I need to do a little more yard work, clean up/organize some of the tires and stuff laying around, setup the table and chairs (have to clean them still). Stuff like that. I plan on putting my cars in the front yard so we can use the garage as shade, mostly for the sake of the food. Plus if it rains I don't want to have to make a mad dash to carry everything inside.

I've been considering bringing the big TV out to the garage too, since I have a satellite box out there and only like a 19" tv. Not sure if there will be a need for it though, I don't know if anyone would be watching it. Unless someone brought som dvd's or games. I do have a playstation 2 that I could bring out there. May be just easier to have the stereo on, depending on what people are doing.

At this point it will only be 6 of us unless more people confirm

I just found out the deck guy is supposed to start on Tuesday. So depending on how fast he works and the weather, by Saturday we may have a deck, part of a deck, or a pile of lumber in our way. So watch your step

That's cool. Hopefully in the next day or so I can get some more confirmations and figure out what type of food we're going to be missing. I know I'll end up going to the grocery store on Saturday morning, but it would be nice if I knew beforehand what I had to buy. I've got an empty refrigerator in the garage that I can start stocking now.

Well I plan on getting started about 1PM. The whole group never shows up on time so I'm in no hurry. Last time we did this, most everyone stayed til 7 or so. Right up the street from me, the Lost in the 50's guys setup a meet every Saturday around 5-6 and hang out until dark. I usually head up there for a little while, I figured some others might want to as well.

If the whole thing is still going on at my house, I don't mind hosting until whenever. I don't have to work the next day and I plan on having plenty of beer myself

Send me a PM for directions and tell Ryan he has to bring his car by. It's a lot cleaner than mine, and a lot closer to being 100%.

Awesome. If you have more I can borrow for this I'd be glad to swing by and pick them up Saturday morning. I can't see shade being a bad thing if the sun is out, and right now it seems we still have about 38 more days of rain before Noah arrives.

I can provide another 4-5 lbs of ground beef and a couple packages of Cheese for the burgers...

I'll also bring along some salsa.
