Build Shop Preference
im looking to get my car built this winter, and i would like some feedback from you guys in the area on which shop you think i should take it to. Im torn between Speed 1 in PA, Synaptic 3 in NH and PF Supercars in MD.... Traveling isn't an issue, but perfection is.. lemme know who and why!

I go to IRP in Metuchen NJ. They have taken alot of time to make sure my car ran right and would always do extra stuff and warn me about potentially bad stuff. Of course the only problem I have now is something I was told might fail. Besides that, my car runs like a top and the engine bay looks great. You can tell that when the car leaves the shop, they want the car to run well. They've also been around for a while, have a great reputation and are active on the forums. I wanted the same thing you did and I'm more than happy with what I got.

I can't comment on the other shops as I haven't sent my rotary to them but I can say that I have some buds that take their car to speed1 and they have been happy with them.
If I didn't have IRP, I'd go defined autoworks, speed1 or maybe speedtek after I hear more about them.
I'm sure others will chime in on their opinions. We don't have many good places to choose from in the NE so becareful and don't pick one because it's the cheapest.

im looking to get a streetport rebuild, as well as some reliability upgrades (oil coolers, rad/intercooler), injectors, fuel pump and possibly a single turbo with some other odds and ends. I need a shop that does bodywork as well, i would like a 99 front bumper and wing. Does IRP do all of this?
Supernaut - amazing car, love it. How long have you been on your current build? Also i looked at your engine bay, very nice. Motor wise, what do you have done? and how much HP are you pushing?

IRP does all the mechanical stuff. They do NOT do bodywork. I had my car done at the bodyshop they recommended and the experience was mixed. I don't think IRP uses them anymore for their bodywork. I can suggest some stuff.
Thanks man. My build has been going on for a long time. I'm about to get the last piece really soon.
Everything outside the motor has been replaced or upgraded. I hate to give dyno numbers. I went on a really hard dyno and the guy estimated that on a more forgiving one, I'd be at about 330 rwhp. I thought that was to generous of an estimate. I'd guess around 310 - 315 rwhp @ 12psi with water injection.

I heavily suggest Synaptic 3 in Candia NH, These guys are perfectionists in every sense of the word. They have on sight dyno, do AMAZING custom fab work, from Intercoolers to exhausts, cages, paint and body, Interior, you name it, They do it. The facility uses all the best state of the art equipment, right down to corner balancing your car for optimum handling on the track. I have had my car worked on their and would never trust anyone else with it. Dana, the owner, treats every customer like you are his first and only. Rx7's are their specialty, and it shows when you arrive to see your finished product. Pulling into his facility you see a line of Rx7's, the finished versions look like show pieces. Trust me, take my advice and you will not be dissapointed. I am actually about to have them do a new nose, paint and some tuning on my FD. Ive been there many times, and cannot imagine anyone doing better work. The most important thing of all, he is fair, honest, and does the BEST work for your dollar, he stands behind everything he does, and if something isnt right he will go above and beyond to make it right. I too researched other facilities before choosing synaptic, and I am glad I made the right choice. Bring your car there, you will be very very happy.

Call me at the shop and I would be happy to speak with you about your build. We can mount the bumper and wing as well as get them painted for you but they are not done in house. We are now using a different body shop that is local and have been getting very nice results.

Re: the paint/bodywork, I know of a very good place in Morristown NJ which isn't too far from IRP. I'm sure Ihor can work something out with you
