BGE Electric bill, STICKER SHOCK !!!

For all you Small business owners, that are using BGE as their electric company.
GET READY FOR THE STICKER SHOCK OF YOUR ******* LIFE.

YOUR BILL WILL BE CLOSE TO DOUBLE. YEAP DOUBLE.

UNFUCKING BELIEVABLE.

I called BGE to question them about the bill.
I was like, didn't it go into maryland delegation and bill passed
to limit electric bill rates to 15% increase. and etc.
Well.. It turns out, that its for only residential customers, and not
commercial accounts. On top of all that. The rate increase for commercial
accounts are a month earlier than what you seen/heard on the news.

So not only do you get with the summer rates (kilowatts) you also get
the rate increase.. Bottom line is your BILL WILL BE ALMOST DOUBLE.

my bill usually were 1200-1600 average.. My ******* electric bill from June 1st
is ******* 2400 and some change, 2500 ******* dollars for electricity..
unfucking believable.

You want to hear about inflation. I immediately increased prices on EVERYTHING
that require refrigeration.

Im curious. People from other areas of the NE region.
How much are you paying per KILLOWATT HR????
im at a whopping. .11866000 per kWh

our ******* tax's paid for the electrical infrastructure and etc.
and Now with deregulation. the RICH just sticking it to *******
EVERYBODY....

EEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Every ******* month its gonna be like.. Damn I could of put that extra 1200
into the FD...

unfucking believable.

Sorry to hear about that Sean. Is there any way you can get service from a different provider? Is SMECO in your area there?

More unfucking believable ****..

I called Smeco.. They are .0899 per kWh.. which is almost ******* a little
more than I was paying before.. BUT GUESS ******* WHAT.

Since im located close on the border where BGE/SMECO grid meets.
I WON"T BE ABLE TO CHANGE POWER COMPANIES...

WTF... WHERE IS THE ******* CHOICE.

so the SMECO guy tells me.. Look around and see who can sell you power.
BUT,it might cost more than what BGE is ... WTF

DIRTY MUTHDUR FUCKAAASSSS

There's your choices. Did you complain that you were paying less than market value before the increase?

where have you been the last 6 mths? The BGE July 1 inflation rate is all the news was following.

Did you not bother to read your June statement where they said on it "for next month, your rate to compare is 0.1186" ?

It's ******* BS, yes, but it shouldn't be a shocker. Give it a couple months, and I guarantee MD state legislation will kick back in and put a stop to this. ESPECIALLY once the first cold month hits and people have to use heat. All these $300k-700k houses are filled with people who can barely afford them now. Guess what is going to happen when their bill is $400-600 a month.

P.S. Also, unless you specifically called, or signed up online, you aren't even paying the full bill. BGE automatically put all customers into some form of graduated payment, where you will be eased into the inflation prices, and your amount that isn't charged will be charged 5% interest as you pay against it each month. (or somethig to that effect, regardless, it's idiotic for anyone to do...INTEREST LOAN ON gas & electric??)

The deferrment plan only applies to residential customers. He's speaking of his commercial account.

To the best of my knowledge...

What we are about to pay (or already paid) is close to market rates. I can't find the charts, but the BGE bill is only slightly higher than PEPCO's (and keep in mind that until this month, you were paying whatever % less for the last couple of years while Pepco customers have been paying the full price) However, the BGE bill is still less than many parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The regulation and deregulation, make it a bit hard to keep track of, but being a commercial customer, you definitly have a choice. The increase is in the actual energy used, not the delivery rate. I don't know the specifics, but I know that small business owners join somekind of groups to buy energy together. Large companies (let's take Walmart for an example) have much better leverage when negotiating a contract/purchase agreement for their business (think about bulk rates you lock down for all your chain's locations), but small businesses do not. So they make/join organizations to purchase in bulk as a group, then split the savings.

I think the increase is only for the electric bill and not the gas bill.
