Is there anyone from CT who knows of some fun roads/scenic areas to cruise?

down along the coast is nice, but it depends, do you feel like moving fast or just kind of cruising?

You know, honestly the best roads for cruising, i personally like US202 as it heads north into Massachusetts, but here in CT, Barkhamstead, out near the resevoir, very hilly, lots of mountains with great views, and tons of hiking trails if you so wish. its a nice place to be, and the lake below the resevoir offers great fishing, and a couple beaches during the summer. But theres no better place for cruising in the fall, beautiful leaves and such.

yeah roads are rural and theres some fun driving roads if you look around, i used to race out there with my friends, not so many cops, but you have to watch out for wildlife being that far into the boonies.

The roads up by Lime Rock Park are eral nice. I thinks it's Rt 7.

If you want some real nice ridding, come with us to the bear Mountain Meet on October 12th. Awesome roads up that way.

Bear Mountain is in South Eastern NY. Not too far from West Point and poughkeepsie. It also is not very far from the CT border, if I'm not mistaken (chances are I am...I left upstate NY a couple years ago). Give or take 55 miles from Danbury.

As for roads in CT. I used to love to drive Rt. 8 from Lee, Mass./I-90 south into Winstead (as I was heading to the Danbury area)

I took the liberty of Google maps to your area, if your area is Hamden, CT. Hop onto RT. 8 N (anyway that suits you best), it's all highway until it dead-ends @ Winsted (Just north of Torrington). Nice and scenic, though. Distance to Winsted from Waturbury @ the 84 & 8 intersection is roughly 34 miles.
When you come to the red light @ the end of the ramp @ Winsted, hang a right and stay in the right lane. At the next light take a right (this should be a one-way with a small park to your left), @ the end of the park on the right is an absolutely fantastic place to grab a sub or sandwich, it's called John's. Incredibely fresh and outstanding quality of meats and cheeses (damn things are huge too...bring an appetite or save half for later) 860-379-1805 open everyday 8:30am-7pm / sundays 9am - 1pm.
From there just continue north on 8 up through some very nice twisties, through the mountains and valleys, past a reservior (some quality views) and along a stream (tons of pull-off points for the stream...fishing, rafting, etc...) the views and foliage are incredible throughout the fall. Speed enforcement has increased a little along this route, but it's worth it. There are 2 turns that are literally (as the signs will tell you) 10 miles an hr. It is only another 34 miles to Lee, MA. There is a large outlet shopping plaza on the top of a large hill, you can't miss it. Or you can simply continue on your way into Pittsfield. From there RT. 7 either direction is usually a good time.
Let me know if you have any questions or ideas or concerns.
