Autometer Tach issues

Autometer Tach issues, need local help!!!

Finally getting the last bugs out and this ones got me stumped.
The tach is the crapometer 233904, just a basic tach w/shiftlight
I cant get the tach to read right no matter how I set it up.

Iginition is driven by the haltech so im referencing that and the good old “ear tachometer” the tach with both the blue and brown wires clipped reads double what actual rpm is, with just the blue connected its close but low i.e (actual rpm 8200= 5300 displaed on the tach)

And anything else makes it worse. I tried changing my pickup source but get the same results
I tried using one of the pwm out puts from the haltech, the leading signal into the ignitor, the tach wire coming off the HI-6 on the leadings, even the negative wire off the leading coil. Could it be a bad tach? Did I buy the cheap aka wrong one?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any help

Len

Honestly sounds like you need a tach adapter.
