just my opinion here,
If you split, you are always gonna make someone unhappy.
I always thought there are too many states in this section, but its not like we get a ton of threads going on here. Its been like this for so long, if more people could name the state before the thread, I think that would help a little bit.
Its not too hard to just scan through the threads.
I would also like a smaller group, but i dont think it would make much of a differance.
the problem here is too many small states, with too many wierd shapes, in which parts of states are closer to some than others
western NY is closer to northern PA and OH
SE PA closer to DE and MD
PA next to NJ
one can go on and on here
My vote is to leave it the way it is.

I'm up for a split. I also like the idea of subsections and cross linking posts/threads (where applicable).
I still have my FC in Upstate/Eastern NY, but now reside in Southern/Central PA.
The NE forum as it sits now is just too vast.
A poll sounds good.

NY is really the big problem state here and should be split in several places and not considered as a whole
Just an input, the way my company defines the divisions is North Atlantic Upper = Maine, NH, VT, MA, CT and Upstate NY (Kingston to Plattsburgh)
Then we have a North Atlantic Central which includes NYC, NJ, Eastern PA
Then North Atlantic Lower is Maryland and below and there is a Midwest Central region which has that Western NY, Western PA, OH and other states in that area
You always have to provide an exclusion for the NYC guys because for some reason driving an hour and a half in traffic to go 15 miles is not the same as driving an hour and a half in no traffic to go 90 miles, and the CT guys that are in that southern tear drop can just join into that North Atlantic Central forum since they communicate mostly with that group and the guys in western CT would be part of North Atlantic Upper
we can use different names im sure but thats just my two cents

I like the idea of a New england forum. There is always the option of looking at the other section if you want to go to meets in that area. The new england posts really do get hidden amongst the NJ and NY posts. as well as the other states that are too far away for us to get to for meets.

I vote a breakout into two as well.
NE - Everything north of NY
MA - Mid-Atlantic, VA,MD,DE,NJ,East PA
Move West PA and OH into a western forum
It's like 5 hours from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh right? And nothing inbetween...
New York is the problem cause it should be part of CT and part of NJ.

Excuse me admin... this topic and the season is coming up... the meets are getting gaggled together... can we please split this stuff up soon?
New England section: ME/MA/NH/RI/VT
NY Metropolitan Area: NY/NJ/CT/PA
Ohio should be moved to Mid-West
or can we get some type of reply?

Ya i really like the idea of splitting up. it would be nice to see how many people we could get to do a local meet( like 4 or 5 hr drive) Im not sure how many people we would see here in vermont... i think theres three of us but i know the guys around here pretty well and they have been talking about seeing if we could get a meet closer to us because its too far of a drive to go and farther than true New England areas.
And i vote poll!
