I'm not trying to start anything, but njrx777, aren't you like that 16-17 year old kid who's looking for a fd as his first car/rx7? I don't think a thread like this is going to help a seller hand his prized fd over to a 16 year old who still has a permit? Kids your age, just stick to like a fc/fb, or something cheaper and easy, fwd/rwd, who cares, it's your first car. I don't see why all these new drivers think they need to have some fast or expensive car, like they think they are going to be amazing drivers the first time they are behind the wheel on their own. This isn't like tv or that bullshit, you don't need to streetrace or "drifto" on the streets. You will only end up hurting yourself, or worse, someone else. More than likely, you won't be able to handle the power of a stock fd, maybe not even a fc. Before you jump in over your head, just wait and take your time, you don't need to rush things.

well, you gotta figure, the kid's 17 years old and running a car that has probably more power than he can handle. and to bat he's on the stock suspension, so he's probably going to end up flying off the road on a turn in the near future anyway, so no reason to race, he's gonna kill himself anyway, no reason to assist him.

and if he's really got nothing better to do than talk **** about a car he did not build and did not put the time and effort into, then the only thing he's really proving is that mommy and daddy did well for themselves. i can get a hold of a 06 zo6 with a 100 shot and pretty much walk all over this kid, but what in the hell does that prove other than i am in a faster car that i don't own, just means the car is faster, and nothing else.

if the kid's got nothing better to do than brag about a car he didn't earn, then it just shows he's got nothing better to do with his life.

Eh, they just **** me off sometime. I mean, I'm only 18 so I know I don't have much room to talk. But just those typical kids who think they are going to be ******* "professional" streetracers **** me off. This kid I know wants to get like a 240sx or something rwd for his first car and wants to learn to drift through his neighborhood. Wtf is that? How could you be so stupid. ******* caught up in that frickin' Initial-D fad, watching too much fast and furious. **** pisses me off. Take that **** to a damn track, or start doing autocross, take some driving courses. Instead of spending a **** load on a car you don't need, get something average, and spend the rest on some driving classes? Maybe upgrade the brakes and suspension, rather than just being the typical kid who just throws on a **** load of bolt ons and thinks he can be a drift master. This isn't aimed towards anyone in specific, just me ranting.

If you took the time to read the thread or even the first few posts you would know its his friend talking **** and his uncle built the car.

I apologize for not following with the teenage fad of streetracing and drifting around neighborhoods?

Did you read the thread?

The race will hopefully be at atco, between what is supposed to be 2 fast cars.

Less about cruising around the hood.

Just chillll

March meet we are going to JPR then going to Atco.
This could be a great event of muscle vs imports hosted by the RX7 club....

^ you're 18 and basically are stereotyping the age group that you belong to? You don't know ****, i bought my FD when i was 16, in fact a month after i got my license. I ended up getting rear ended by a 25 year old "experienced driver" sitting at a red light. But hey, i didnt know what i was doing so he was just doing me a favor before i killed myself right? If the kid works hard, then he deserves what he can afford. Dont jump on the kids back for wanting an FD, you dont know anything about him. Don't know why people get all upset when a young person gets an FD, a lot of them work hard for their car just like some of the older members.

I wasn't saying about this 1 race. I was generalizing. If this race happens at a track, then that is fine, I see nothing wrong that.

I didn't say every single teenager follows that "fad". I said the typical kids. The ones who ******* think they are going to get their first cars and go streetracing and the like. As for getting a fd when you are young, I'm not going to stop you. All I'm saying is, I don't know why a kid starting out driving needs a car like that. I'm not sitting here saying the kid is not allowed to buy the car he wants. Go ahead, it's his money and his life. He may be a responsible driver, who knows.

Here are my posts so you can reread them.

I said in my first post I was not trying to start anything, I was merely ranting. I was not trying to single out the kid in this post, although I did mention him in the beginning.

Again, I said the typical kids. Not saying everyone, not singling out the original poster. There are just those kids out there who think streetracing is everything. I just don't know why people would want to put that kind of risk on themselves or others, just to show off. To me, it's not worth it. It's my opinion. I said in my post that things like that should be taken to a track, where it's safer, and the atmosphere is nicer.

we want to keep this as safe and as legal as possible. dont need anyone getting their cars totaled or anything. ive been talkin to tom about setting up this race for a while.. were mainly doing it just for fun but money and a video camera would deffinatly make it more interesting..yea im only 17 too but seriously im not lookin for an fd to go racing or drifting or any of that **** ...if i wanted to go **** up my car i would go buy a pos honda or something..im looking into getting one of these cars because its like no other car out there and dont say that mommy daddy are buying it for me cuz thats bullshit ive worked my *** off for the past 2 years and spent none of my money to get to where im at. i wouldnt have even thought about getting one if jpr wasnt so close to me so if i need any work done they are right down the street. i have done my reasearch about these cars and know what im in for and how much money is involved. and turbodrx7 thanks im glad to know that someone here was once in my position... when this race goes down ill let u guys know beforehand so anyone local can come.

That's awesome. I'm glad to see you view everything that way. Hope you find a nice car soon. I'll have to hit up some meets finally to check it out.

o0o yea and this thread wasnt made to find a race for me it was made to find a race for my friend and teach him a lesson so he will respect these cars. i dont want anyone to get the wrong idea and think that im a 17yr old kid that wants to get a fd so i can race everyone in sight. i thought this would be a awsome race to see.. and if the meet in march does happen and you guys make the trip to atco it sounds like it would be a good time to get a race goin.

uh, yeah, I did read the thread, and if you actually read my post, it obviously is toward the friend, and his uncle built it for him, proving my point that the car is not really his, he never put any time into it.

his uncle didnt build the car for us..we bought the car last year for a good price due to that it wasnt running and needed to be totally reabuilt. we stripped the entire car, dropped the engine out, put in the rollcage in, new rear end, shaved the fire wall, replaced the gas tank with a fuelcell, and totally rewired everything in the car. the only thing that his uncle did to help us was get the engine running again and he might have to help get it back in because this is only the 4th engine that we have dropped in a car by ouselves. we rebuilt the car and his uncle only helped where we lacked in knowlege. we are planning on dropping it back in within the next few weeks.

ok, that's more like it. definately can respect that. but then why all of the foolishness from your friend on rotaries? I mean, hell, there are lawn mowers that can beat the **** out of piston and rotary cars alike, doesn't your friend realize that there will always be a faster car than his, some of them rotary, some of them piston, just a fact of life.
