Anyone know how to contact Juan "Judge Ito" Rivas?

This is becoming a big nightmare.

Juan has had my car for several months now, he closed down his shop, said he would take my car to his new shop he was working at to fabricate a new TID for the T04E-60 he was putting on it.

I call him and every week he says oh, next week it will be ready.
I left him one last message Saturday, and never got a call back.
Now this morning I discover his cell number is disconnected along with his shop number.

I am at a loss as to what to do - I just want my damn car back.

What do I do in a situation like this? Call the cops? Hire a lawyer?

The guy has my car, somewhere, I have no idea where it is or how much is done on it. He's had it for five or six months now. I like Juan, he's a damn good mechanic, but this is getting ridiculous. I don't know if I'm ever going to see my car again.

hehe, six months...i'd say youre about halfway there(i'm not making fun of you). Just like a lot of other customers of his, i had to wait on him for a long time to finish my car. The only thing i can suggest is getting on his *** about it and maybe he'll finish it just to get rid of you(if youre enough of a pia, i guess). Then again, since u dont have contact #'s your best bet is to go to his shop and try to catch him there or hope someone sends you a pm with new contact info.

I would definately start looking into legal options since the shop is suposed to be closed.
Good luck with it! hope it turns out ok!

your not the only one. ANother guy on NoPistons.com has it worse than you. Hes been waiting 15 months for his parts and stuff to get his car running. ANd the only explanation ITO gave was that he was having family issues. But still that has nothing do with anything. Hes running a buisness. You need to notify all your customers, and let them know whats going on with tehre car. Thats messed up man. I hope everything works out.

Best bet is to do what manny said. Pass by the spots he frequents and catch him there. Im sorry to hear about this.

Good luck

Well I did hear from him tonight, so I am a little calmer.
He has shut down his shop for good and is working for another shop in Lodi.

I am not going to do anything drastic, he says he will be on it this week, and I'm sure he is sick of me bitching :-)
Really I am just waiting for the charge pipe.

I have no beef with Juan, his skills as an RX-7 mechanic are above reproach.
His time management skills, well...

That Red FD could be StreetdreamzNY. He is on this forum. Does it have a 99 spec nose? I heard that Ito promised he would have his car ready before Rotorfest.... We will see if he keeps his promise....

He's got a Feed bumper not a 99, and easy way to tell if its streetdreamz car is to look inside see if theres no glove box and he also runs nitto drags.

I wonder how he is managing his unfinished jobs...seems theres a few floating around.

red FD has stock bumper and was being tuned when we had our meet at mothers in april? same car.

i was there last month and saw a black stock FD. they seemed to be swapping ECUs, cause there where like 3 stock ones in the passenger floor. was that yours, blackrx7turbo?

That sounds like me... they were having issues with something they thought was electrical -- can't remember what... and they were trying out different ECUs to see if they could diagnose the issue. I know Sammy said it took him forever to figure out what the problem was....

All mods on my car are not done to the body, so it looks basically stock (save the HKS exhaust.. also, I think the previous owner put a stock wing on the car)...

Well I talked to Juan, he's bringing the car to Mother's Monday to finish it up. Think it just needs the charge pipe and the Rtek dropped in.

I kept calling there leaving messages looking for him, and the lady at the desk finally called me back trying to figure out who I was looking for.... "who's this Juan person?"

Finally they got him on the phone, he's like, "no man, you have to ask for Ito!"

So all is well now I guess, I'm going by here Monday after he has the car towed there to make sure all the I's are dotted & t's crossed. Hopefully I will have the car back pretty soon.

So to anyone else who's waiting - there is hope.
Frankly I think he'll be a lot better off and happier just being a damn good mechanic than being a business owner. Not to mention more productive.
