Advice Please

i own an fd that has recently failed emissions in maryland. i need to know who to take it to to do a tune up, repair a door lock and recharge the a/c. the car is a garage queen that gets driven once every 2-3 weeks just to keep the battery from discharging completely. preferrably somewhere that charges reasonable rates and is located in the mt. airy, frederick area. any suggestions?

Contact PFSupercars. They are right in Frederick. They do FD's mostly. Good luck getting your car in there. Most guys wait a few months, but they get motor and turbo work done. They are the best on the east coast for FD's.

Advice Please

thanks for the response guys but making an appointment for a few months down the road sounds like overkill considering all i need is a tuneup and a simple lock repair. i hate to take it to a dealer but i can get the car into russel mazda monday and get it back on tuesday..............anybody else have any ideas?

did you try and call pfs??? don't take our word for it, they could be slow right now, I don't know. they could probably get you in and out in a few days, and considering they specialize in fd's, I would have the wait over the speed.

Yeah from what I've heard Ray works... Slowly. I guess if you're willing to wait a few months for a PFS type job, go for it. Don't take your car to russell. Their service department sucks.

For just tune up stuff, you really don't need to take it to a performance shop and wait weeks at a time. You should try to have a forum member help you, (I don't mess with FD's, just FC's at this point or I'd get you taken care of) and give them a few bucks/beer/pizza on the side.

If you must take it to a shop Kearney is rotary friendly. They mainly do maint work, not performance work. I'd say you'd still have better luck with Kearney over Russell, and still get your car back just as fast.

There have been only two mechanics that have ever touched my car since I bought it, Kevin Landers of Rotary Resurrection, and myself.
