So my dad wants me to take his FD3S since we are exempt from emissions. SoCal emissions are expensive. The car has been tuned by Tripoint since the 90s. He has them de-tune the FD to pass emissions and the retunes it back up for the rest of the year enjoyment.
I had a 94 Integra GSR that i drove from CA to PGH. The orads and snow just took its toll on it.
I plan to keep the FD as LONG as possible. The rust is a big concern for me and the maintenance. Since Tri-point is no where near, any recommendations for rotary mechanics in PGH?
I bet there arent many since there arent many rotarys in the area.
Any recommendations for garage storage in the winter? My wife will probably use the other garage in the winter to avoid snow removal in the mornings. However wont this introduce salt and water into the garage (from her car) and expose the FD?
What can I do about this?

I have a white 94 FD and live a little less than 2 hours north of pittsburgh (though i'm down there about once a month with it) and I'm storing at a local temperature controlled storage facility. Here is their website (Yenko-Wildfire.net), they charge ~$50 a month.

Thanks. I'm in Cranberry. But I have a heater in my garage. Depending on gas cost to run it 247 in the winter rather than house it elsewhere I might do that storage facility.
I saw a black FD driving out of the Bestbuy parking lot in Cranberry.

Shoot me a PM if you decide to store there, I plan on going over once or twice a month to check on my FD and can do that same for you since I'll be there and you live so far away.

Wow, honestly I didn't realize there were this many if us around the area. I think we may have to have a wing/beer/rx7 night before it snows and the 7s get put away. I'll be in Robinson this weekend if any of you gents want to meet up at Quaker Steak & Lube Friday or Saturday night.

I just got an FD that came today. 94 Black base. Definitely a project car, and probably won't be running any time. It has sat for about 3 years. Will need a lot of work, but I'm looking forward to it. Finally got my dream car.
Awesome! got another one in town, when do you think you'll have it up and running?
Btw, love the note about the 3rd gen classifieds. I was hooked on that for a few months straight before I found mine too. lol

It's a pretty extensive restoration project. It hasn't run in like 3 years according to the previous owner. The main set back for me will be money for a while (I just bought a house right before buying the car, so that project is going to come first). My plan will be to just go through everything I can that doesn't cost too much money for a little while (things like cleaning out the gas tank, fixing interior stuff, etc.). I would probably guess a year, but I hope to be sooner than that. I come from 2nd gens, so any advice from some local 3rd gen guys that would speed up that process would def be appreciated lol.
As for the note in my sig, it read "currently addicted to the 3rd gen classifieds" for like 3+ years....needless to say, it was a very happy day when I got to change that lol.
Here's a pic I snapped on the day it got dropped off:

Street-heat. That'll be awesome to see what you do with it. Are you going to keep the rotary or use an alternative power-plant?
Solscud, that thing looks beautiful! Love the hood and wheels too.

Yeah I love the Mazdaspeed style hood. The OZ wheels are great but heavy.
Solscud007, Looks fantastic man.
Plans are to def keep the rotary. I made sure to find a project that was pretty close to stock. I wanted to start with the car in sequential form. I feel like I need to experience that feature first. Plans are just to do a pretty straight forward restoration, with some reliability mods thrown in.

I live in Pittsburgh and have three FC's. Two NA's that both drive and one turbo that I'm rebuilding right now. I drive my white GXL FC every day so whoever says Pittsburgh is not representing has not met me, yayo!
