5th Synchro replacement

Well everyone, i finally got my Rx7. 1993 MB Touring with 78k miles. It's got a bad 5th sync, and I wasn't sure if anyone in the area has any experience with that. I figure someone here has had the problem, and some have probably fixed it themselves. I'm trying to find some help as far as someone to help me fix the synchro, or a shop if no one can help, but knows a shop that can give a good deal. anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

It's not hard if you can remove the tranny. The only think slightly tricky is to make an appropriate extended bearing puller.

Check out the 5th synchro links in the 3rd gen forum FAQ thread.

Yeah I found a link to the FAQ. I was really hoping I'd be able to do it without completing removing the tranny (figured that wouldn't happen). I'd be working on it on my front street, so I didn't feel like having the tranny ripped out if it wasn't in a garage.

I might have to start off the ownership of this Rx7 by puting her in a shop already.

I tried double-clutching, and for some reason it worked a couple times, but most of the time it's not. I've finally put over 100 miles on the car, so I'm starting to be able to rev match it better and it's not as bad. I'd still like to get the synchro fixed, and make sure I've got all the fluids good, spark plugs changed, SS brake lines, etc. before I start getting too deep into mods.
